Hum...this is probably a dumb question , but these shrines are near town/villages ??? But aren't there temples in each one already ? And 2nd....I see alot of Talos shrine ! Where are the Ladies Goddess shrines (
Sorry for the late reply. This mod adds shrines specifically to towns and cities that did -not- have shrines already. Otherwise this mod would have no purpose.
The choice of shrines was specifically meant to be lore-friendly to the area. Skyrim is a place that has a lot of Talos worship, even after worship of Talos has been banned, so many areas will have shrines to Talos. This especially includes areas that are under Stormcloak control at the start of the game, or otherwise in areas of deep unrest.
Winterhold: This Shrine to Talos is in a destroyed house, it is likely a remnant, or placed there later after the Great Collapse. Winterhold begins as a town loyal to the Stormcloaks.
Dawnstar: Shrine to Talos, as it is initially under the control of the Stormcloaks.
Morthal: Ostensibly loyal to the Empire but the Jarl isn't exactly enthusiastic. The Shrine of Talos is hidden away behind a large rock, where people defiantly worship in secret.
Dragon Bridge: Shrine to the *Goddess* Kynareth. She is the goddess of the heavens, the winds, the elements, and the unseen spirits of the air. She is closely tied to nature, and it seemed to fit Dragon Bridge's locale, at least to me.
High Hrothgar: Shrines to Akatosh and Kynareth. Akatosh is the God of Time, and creator of the dragons, who gave rise to the Voice. Kynareth is the goddess that first gifted mortals with the Voice so that they could fight the tyranny of the dragons, and it is Kynareth that the Greybeards chiefly worship in the Way of the Voice.
Ivarstead: Shrine to Arkay, god of burials and funeral rites, sitting derelict at the entrance to the barrow. Seemed appropriate, as it was the only real good place to put a shrine.
Karthwasten: This is a mining town, full of hard workers, and has a shrine to Zenithar, the god of wealth, labor, commerce, and communication. Labor especially made sense.
Riverwood: Shrine to Zenithar for much the same reason, the people of Riverwood are hard working, down to earth people.
Shor's Stone: Shrine to Akatosh, but I forget why. It's been a year but I'm pretty sure I had a good reason at the time.
Darkwater Crossing: Shrine to Talos, as it is initially controlled and occupied by Stormcloaks.
New version uploaded. I made visual improvements to most shrines, but only uploaded a new pic of the one at Dragon Bridge, since its changes were the most drastic.
I'm happy you like it guys. I wasn't planning on releasing this at first, it was just a personal mod. As such, I rushed through it a bit, so in a couple days, I will likely go through and improve a couple of the shrines visually (like Dragon Bridge, not satisfied there), and add a little flavor here and there (offerings and books and such).
