Greetings! I have a problem with the female variation. In 'Heavy' it doesn't fit with the breast of my follower (Jenasa CBBE) and in 'Light' I see meshes but not textures. I downloaded last version V.5. Is there any solution to this issue? Thanks.

Interesting take on mail in Skyrim. But why create such a low-line "collar" on the mail shirt? If the enemy had half a brain his weapon would target the bare neck every time.

      It's LARP. Lol.

Should be like this: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/7e/66/db/7e66db7e3162fbb2f7deef9927d2e798.jpg (11th century). They wore pretty much exactly the same stuff as French knights did. xD

When they could afford or obtain it. Early Vikings and other Dark Age warriors often went into battle with NO armor on their body, maybe a helm if they were lucky. Later a mail shirt would be more common, and then eventually a full hauberk and a coif or aventail. The neck area often had little coverage for Viking warriors and many men at arms in the middle ages. It's the leaders, chiefs, and nobles who often had more full coverage.

Hoping this mod gets added into the Leveled list. I'm not likely to wear chain but that bandit or random traveler would look sexy in it; just Saiyan.

I'd love to know why every Viking armour on the Nexus makes the female version a dress, shield maidens didn't wear chainmail dresses, they wore armour similar to what the men wore. This is an example of what shield maidens wore: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/91/9b/01/919b01ae8ec1570e50e52db496af05a2.jpg

Well, at least it's not a skimpy bikini and G-string with bracelets and high heels, like 99% of the other female armor mods on here.

To be honest, that kind of annoys me too. There would be no reason for any craftsman to go to the trouble of making feminine-looking armor. The only thing he would do would be to make reasonably form-fitting armor.

      Right on. Anything but that!

Actually, I agree with all three of you.

But 99% of the male armour on this site is impractical, too, including this one and Skyrim's own vanilla armour. So it's hardly gender specific. Provided shield maidens actually existed out of folklore and sagas, then sure, it'd only make sense they'd have worn regular mail the males did and tailored for a snug fit.

I love this armour! I get it from Immersive Armours, but I thought I ought to leave my comment on the specific armour page. I especially love the female version! I love practical dresses, and armour that looks feminine but still functional. You did a great job!

It would be more practical if it didn't leave an opening straight to the throat. xD

What real Viking mail should look like: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/7e/66/db/7e66db7e3162fbb2f7deef9927d2e798.jpg

Same problem here. Seems like a collar texture is missing.

I wonder if the texture is still packed in an earlier version maybe?

Hey guys, I figured this one out.

This is a mod included in Immersive Armours. Unfortunately the female .nif mesh refers to a file in the Redguard Knight texture set which is of course missing from the standalone, but does exist in IA. It seems that at some point, this standalone mod was ported back from the Immersive Armours set and those files were overlooked because they were in a different directory.

You can fix this by either using the Immersive Armours version of this mod, OR by pulling out the loose files (either from the Redguard Knight standalone mod, or by unpacking the IA .bsa file - it's in the "extras" .bsa) and adding them to the Viking.zip before you install.

      The missing textures are:
      - data/textures/armor/redguardknight/roche_guard__h1.dds
      - data/textures/armor/redguardknight/roche_guard__h1_n.dds
      - data/textures/armor/redguardknight/roche_guard__h1_s.dds
