The mod does work, but the Banish Light spell fx don't seem to scale for us as promised... they remain permanently set at 15 seconds, regardless of active perks and Illusion skill level. Perhaps it doesn't work properly with Awakened Magicka installed...
This spell matches beautifully with my mage character. Unfortunately, despite having the right level of illusion, the spell book does not show at the mentioned vendors. Fortunately, adding the spell via the console worked. I like the touch that the unlit light gets relighted again after a short while!
Actually, regarding the whole illusion/alteration argument: illusion is to do with perception of reality, while alteration is to about changing the physical properties of something. Since the lights automatically 'relight' on their own, it could be argued that the spell isn't changing the physical properties of the fire/candle/etc, but instead is temporarily altering the perception of the emitted light. Of course, it's possible that in that case it may be better to have a spell which can blind a target instead. And if you really can't stand it as an illusion spell, it's very simple to change the school in either TES5Edit or the CK.
I like this mod a lot, but I was hoping that there is a mod that allows you to create dark rooms for an epic entrance. A spell that darkens the room like the Nightingale challenge where you have to avoid light sources. I would really really appreciate a mod like that.
Uhh.... Is anyone else having a problem where, upon installing this mod, the game crashes as soon as you load a save? I have skse installed and installed this through nmm.
