Good question, Niklass, I had the same query. But I've been using these steel meshes and didn't see any problems, so I figured Kurgan must have made some slight tweaks to them.
This is my favorite glass overhaul mod, thanks Kurgan. It makes the glass textures transparent, and the weapons and armor look very good (new meshes).
Chillrend (artifact glass sword) especially looks awesome! Kurgan has also added new textures for the Chillrend glow and environmental mask, which adds a special look & feel for this awesome artifact weapon when it is wielded in a dark dungeon.
The biggest advantage is that now you can see through the edges of the glass shield while you are holding it up to block the enemy's incoming blows.

It is based off the Better Fitting Glass Helmet mod; also includes fix for the AmidianBorn Glass armor helmet.
@Dolothane6332 Magic, they use magic to make it transparent. How do they do it? Like wizards, with long capes and pointy hats and a big ol' wizardly beard.
Lol this is great and all (I do like it, not hating), but I don't think it means glass literally, it's made from Malachite and Moonstone which are two solid, OPAQUE metals. I don't think there's even actual glass in Skyrim, or even Tamriel, because I haven't seen any glass here and if I had it would be on windows not on weapons and armor.
When I looked at the latest version of your mod (with meshes), I came across 3 meshes that I'm puzzled by; these meshes are in the weapons\steel folder. Do they serve a purpose or was that an error?
Other than that I liked (& endorsed) your transparency adjustments to Joshawowo's mods.
armor and weapons work fine (had to install the mesher version although)!
only thing not working is the curiass. yes, im using a skimpy armor mesh (Revealing Glass Armor - male - Acer edition by aoki) and tried to rework the texture, so it fits its skimpy mesh... didn't work :-(
although i don't know wat "Acer edition" means? maybe thats the problem???
I hate to inform you, but it is actually made from refined Malachite. So technically it was never glass. It was just a name (Perhaps for it's smoothness?).
Fixed the Meshes upload, was having issues uploading it earlier, guess it messed the file up. Tested and it works now.
@ serafym71 All glass has been done, including Cuirass. I just didn't screenshot absolutely every piece of armor, since some of them don't show it as well. So get a good angle on chest glass was proving to be a pain. I figured the amount of shots I took of different pieces would be enough to allow people to pass judgement on weather they want this mod or not.
Well, not actually realistic as it's not supposed to be real glass, but obsidian (volcanic glass) so it should be black and shiny not transparent. Also ebony is a type of wood, but it's volcanic glass in TES. I have no idea why Bethesda decided to name them so falsely :o
