To add the book into your inventory open console and put <player.additem 5B000D62 1> or if that doesnt work do <help "ancient shaman"> and use the listed item id.
You also have to drop the note and then read it on the ground for it to work.
For all you lost people. You need to read a note that is placed ON TOP of a cabinet inside Faendal's House. As you enter turn left you will see a table with weapons and shield and a cabinet. Jump baby jump. Pick up the letter and tadaaaaa. Magic happens
BTW, if you guys would bother reading the few comments below author made the same location description little lower.
Of any crafting-related mod in the game, this one is my personal favourite. Alchemy is the most tedious part of the game, and this removal of the heinous task of experimentation now puts it on a par with the other crafting profs (which is how it should have been all along imo). Thank you and endorsed
Thanks a lot. I never leveled alchemy because I just couldn't go through all the experimenting and every new character has to just start over. This is a great help.
After having researched alchemical effects a number of times, I just couldn't be bothered with it this playthrough. So, I got this mod, and it does what it advertises. Read that note, and you're set. Endorsed.
@ dukesilver30 Exactly. My first 3-5 characters were all alchemists and after the second time, it's just no fun to look at notes and rediscover the effects
@ ElunnValore That is a good idea. Maybe put them along the paths of the companion, main and mages quest lines or maybe just a few static locations. I think it would also be ok to add more potion recipes to the random loot leveled lists (that automatically unlock effects). I think there are a couple of mods on nexus where people have added more potion recipes which I would probably be allowed to use.
The things is, I meant to make a "real quest" from the beginning and make this as a reward, but as hinted on the front page, I'm kind of lazy. Can't promise anything, but your comment is appreciated. Thanks.
Thank you...after restarting the game for nth time, this really helps. Shame this isn`t more endorsed...maybe splitting it into several notes you discover through the game will help with removing the feeling that you`re cheating the game.

just use the console when you can't be bothered searching for stuff.
(use console to find items)
help "itemname"
;)
