10/3/15 - v1.31 now available. This is an essential update that corrects the incorrect file paths in the .bsa file from v1.3. The 'for sale' sign should now show up in game.
This house is by far my favorite. I love hunting and roleplaying in the Northern region of Skyrim, and this house is ideal for it's simple, beautiful and default skyrim house-style. Can't recommend this enough, now that the sign is in place. Thanks for the update!
Looks like it's been years since anyone posted on here, so I doubt I'll get a response, but I'll try anyway.
I love this player home. It's perfect for a new adventurer, or just one with simple tastes. I just have one request for advice: I use Grass on Steroids, along with a bunch of other landscape-improving mods. There's no real conflict per se, but the front "yard" of my new home is overrun! Needs a good mowing. How do I go about fixing this without altering all grass, everywhere? The only option I can think of seems to be the CK, locating the exact patch of grass, and disabling it. But is there any other recourse?
Hi, you'd need to load my mod in the CK and make a small edit to the exterior cell by painting over the area in question with snow textures that don't use grass objects i.e. 'LSnow01' or 'LSnow02'. If you have any problems, just let me know.
No one in Dawnstar or elsewhere in the Pale region has anything about the house in their dialog.
I've seen references in the mod-files refering to "forsalesign". Still i can't find any signs, outside the house or road leading to it. The giant camp across neither.
Installed the "Free" version, thinking i earned the house by spending so much time looking for the seller. Uninstalled it again since it dosen't fit roleplaying to just find a free house. So please leave some info on where to find the sign or check if the files are faulty.
There are incorrect file paths for the mod's custom objects within the .bsa (i.e. which would mean that those objects wouldn't show in game). In my own Skyrim installation I don't use a .bsa and I have all the custom files where they should be in the Skyrim/data folder instead, so everything appears to me as it should. I didn't test the uploaded .bsa as such and just presumed it would be ok, which was my mistake. Same thing came to light recently on another house mod I uploaded. Packing .bsa files is still fairly new to me I'm afraid.
Just bear with me and I'll upload a corrected version in a while. Apologies for any inconvenience.
Edit - New corrected file has now been uploaded (v1.31).
Nicely done. Just tested 1.31 and the for sale sign appears and everything works as it should. Its a great little cottage, simple and functional in a great setting. One of the better player homes around. Also GJ for fixing the sign so quickly
New version 1.3 is now available which makes the house purchasable for 5000 gold. I never initially intended to have it as free accomodation, so please bear that in mind. You should have to earn access to it - squatters hoping for a nice convenient free roof over their heads aren't welcome at Snowberry Cottage anymore! If you don't have the cash, then you can expect to be left out in the cold!!
If you really *don't* want a purchasable house, then you'll have to stick with the previous 1.2 version...
No items previously stored in the house will be affected with the new 1.3 version, but obviously now you'll have to buy the property first before you can access them again...
Thank you for the update. I hope some day you can improve the lighting in the basement to eliminate the shadow stripping down there. The lighting on the main floor is perfect. Still using this cottage after all this time!
This is a great, simple starter home for new characters (tested with Skyrim 1.. "Snowberry Cottage" is now featured on GEMS under category 220 - Starter Homes
Awesome addition to Skyrim, great cottage for those who want something simple and not extravagant.
I featured this mod in my latest video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oA2t7dePu-U
The video spotlights player homes added by modders. If you wish to embed the video in your description page or post it wherever you like (other threads posted with your mod for instance), that is okay and I would be honored (I spent quite a time making this video).

Very nice Nic75, good little modest cottage, which is the way i like player homes. If I make a suggestion. The textures in the basement walls floor and ceiling are all the same. Feels a bit like games in the nineties. could we get some variation, and rubble in the passage way?

Love the house, by the way...
