Dragonborn weapons are now De-LARPed! The Nordic set was curiously quite well-done, no absurdly thick edges anywhere... except the war axe.
Bound Dagger got thinned too, as it was absurdly thick just like a real-deal daedric dagger.
And then there's the Stahlrim axes. Where the Dawnguard dragonbone dagger stole the throne of "most absurdly over-thick edge" from the vanilla game's daedric axes, the stahlrim axes steal it from the dragonbone dagger. Is it an axe head or a cudgel? The longblades also got thinned a bit.
I am still mulling about the Bloodskaal Blade, and Miraak's sword looks... too complex to touch.... -
The Dawnguard war axe and several Dragonbone weapons now look like they have actual sharp edges now. One commenter, Grimoa, made an apt analogy in that the weapons affected looked like LARP weapons because of their thick edges. I changed the mod name to reflect.
Many of the Dawnguard weapons were so egregiously thick-bladed that they were conspicuously so even in the hands of others or on the ground, so that pertinent mesh is affected for the DG weapons too.... -
Holy... crap... Dawnguard's weapons are all the size of LARP weapons
If any of you happen to have NIFSkope, take a look at several of the Dawnguard melee weapons. Notice anything?
Yep... their edges are all *THICK*. Even the MACE is ungainly thick. Just how exactly are all these weapons more lethal than Daedric with edges as thick and dull as that? How exactly is a dagger that has absolutely no tapering to the edge expected to slit throats? The only two points on the Sword that are of any concern are a barb on one side and the tip. The 1H axe is probably the only one that looks remotely sharp by any measure. The Greatsword is good for shredding, but that's about it. The Battleaxe is ungainly thick as well.
And the Dawnguard axe? That thing's edge is nearly a 90 degree wedge! WTH? How is that supposed to do an... -
