Just a note - this doesn't seem to work with any mod which adds a stable to the game. For example, the stables added by Expanded Towns and Cities still sell horses for 1000.

You would need to either ask the author to make a compatibility patch or ask them for permission to make a patch.

Love the mod, thank you so much! Small request, would it be possible to make a version that only increases the price of houses and horses? I use a mod that let's you pay followers continously, instead of pay them once, and then keep them in your service for as long as you like ( this one, if anyone's interested: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/60763/ ), and I feel like it would be better balanced if the starting price for them wasn't that high. Anyway, love your work!

I really liked the mod, but I'm heaving problems with the mod breezehome fully upgradable, so I wanted to deinstall expenisve investments. The effects stay, like others already mentioned. That's a real problem!

This is due to the way save files are handled in Skyrim. The values are "baked in" to the save file, so when you uninstall the mod the game doesn't know to revert to the vanilla values.

A better way to handle a mod like this would be to use an MCM menu to change the values on the fly. It could include an "uninstall" option which would revert all of the values to the vanilla amounts, allowing you to safely remove the mod. Maybe I should create such a mod; it's just that I find programming MCM menus super effing tedious.

I have done exactly this and released Investment Price Config.

It would be nice if this mod was modulated, so you could choose how much which asset (house, horse or followers) would cost.

The best way, in my opinion, would be an MCM Menu with individual sliders for each price.

Anyone figure out how to REVERSE the changes of this mod? Everything is too expensive for me now. I kind of went overboard with economic mods, and these increased prices have become impractical

try learning to save up a little, eventually youll have enough cash,,, go hunting, kill some elk, loot all the bandits you murder in cold blood, master a crafting skill, go mining, fishing, singing, dance in the fire, enlist as a cook for the hagravens, go and breed dragons or unicorns, grow wheat, become a witcher, sell the Normandy etc
just kidding, I dunno, Im using the hardest version together with trade and barter, sure it seems i wont ever be eble to buy even Breezehome, but all the junk you loot on your journeys can be sold,, run around with the packmule called Lydia in your tail

I've yet to find out how to reverse the changes, but I think I've figured why things get stuck.

I believe however that the dialogue is the only thing stuck in the old files. Haven't confirmed that though. But one thing I noticed is that once the game load up a lot of things, like the dialogues it seems to be writing that into your save file.

So thinking further, a reverse mod probably would put things back to normal. Just load it, save and then you should be able to unselected it. Can easily be made if you still need it.

      EDIT 1:
Okay, I know the issue here. Globals generally save inside your save data. And since the original data is not set to constant it'll use the data inside the save and thus you'll have the old prices.

A reverse mod that sets the globals to their old values with constant active should reverse it back. Save once and you should be able to unload it the esp and your savefile is back to normal.

      EDIT 2:
      This should do it:
      https://www.dropbox.com/s/ii0xd9n0tf8247k/Expensive%20Investments%20Reverse.rar

Not gonna upload it to nexus since I don't feel like making my first mod something that so few will probably use.

Reason for that is because it edits the Globals which gets saved into your save even without the mod active.
