I think the muffle calculation is tooooo hard. I'm thinking of games as splinter cell or movies a la James Bond or Mission Impossible (or even more realistic films as war movies), and I think it's actually possible -in real life- walk behind an enemy, even at sunlight, and make an attack from behind.
C'mon! even all of us have sometimes managed to sneak up to the back of someone to give a scare, and don't need "magical boots" to do this.

I think the whole concept of the mod is great. It is a "must have type of mod", since stealh is very poor in vanilla game, but the way the muffle concept is managed is too hard to my mind.

I have tried to approach an enemy from behind, veeeeeeery slooooooowly, just typing "w" bit by bit, in a closed pitch black cavern, with 25% muffle (perk), and naked. And it was impossible after many attempts. And my sneak skill is 84 (I'm lvl 46).C'mon, even ME, with the proper training, in real life would be able to approach an enemy from behind in a complety darkness and being undetected... (and I think 84 sneak skill in game is a good equivalence to that "proper training" in real life...
I repeat, the whole concept is OK but I´d ease the difficulty.

MY TWO CENTS: What if sneak skill amount influences muffle effect? So, more sneak skill, more muffle effect, and easier to move in darkness or aproach enemies from behind.

Keep working on this, worth it!

Yeah I've been trying to find mods to make it feel more like Splinter Cell. LOL this mod makes it impossible to do anything. I think I found a couple mods that make it more tactical not a big fan of this mod. Deleting.

I'm in agreement. If the mod is only good if you have end game gear, with ALL of it 100% focused on buffing your stealth just to make it playable... then you're not installing a mod. You're installing a giant nerf bat that pounds you in the face from level 1-99 of Stealth and 1-99 of Enchanting. This is a quintessentially poorly thought out mod.

I want a mod that ALTERS the stealth conditions, not make stealth play tedious. Unfortunately, doesn't look like the author is working on this anymore. Hopefully, wherever he is, he's learned elitist Pro-Gamer snobbery isn't how to make a good mod in Skyrim. Mods should ADD to the game, not detract.

Way to unrealistic. You really should get a decent light mod first and THEN do this mod.
Also, an untouched Perk version would be cool, so I can use it witk SkyRe.

I don't think that the author has been around lately (since may). Regarding your comment about ACE and SkyRE. First of all, I don't think those two are compatible. I have only tried SkyRE for a couple of days and don't know much about it because it turns out that I prefer to use "Weapons of 3rd era MOS" and ACE.

My point was that the ACE armor tree perks work well with this mod _if_ you make some changes. If I remember correctly, this mod changes only a couple of perks that conflict with the ACE changes. The conflicts are in the Unhindered and Conditioning perks. In the past I had a patch for these two mods where I removed those perks from SP in order to get the effects from ACE. Unfortunately that also removed the bonus movement gained from taking the muffled movement perk.

I'm currently looking at the mods in Tes5Edit, and if I figure out how to merge the two, Ill post an "unofficial" patch in case some one else is interested.

Though I really appreciate the effort you put into this (and I give you a huge huge for letting Shadowwarior in with a balanced cooldown!) you have overdone it.
Sneaking is a pain in the ass.
I have invisibiily, Muffle and 70 Sneak, yet enemies see me in daylight from 30meters away. Sorry, but this is too much. If your mod was a littlebit less harsh (and there for...well..more realistic?), it would be my favorite mod by far.

Nice idea, but you got bad balance. You make sneaking more realistic, but at same time you making "Dark Eye" which look like "white raven" in Skyrim gameplay. Or why you increase movement speed in "walk mode" while sneaking, instead of decreasing speed in "run mode" - if someone will need to do fast spurt (and they got good sneak ability), they will use crossing (i am bad in English, so translator can do misunderstanding; I mean "Shift" with crouching ;]). Besides it got glitch: when you running with weapon "on side" then push "crouching button",then change speed on "walk" and see, that animation of moving still are like you running - its sad to see, and realy noising.I don't know about did anyone write same as me before and I am sorry for "copy comment" if it so.

I too rarely comment or endorse. I have tried many stealth mods and yours is the one that i play and keep. And being a Thief fan, I had decided to get Water Arrows to go along with SP. These two mods have changed stealth in Skyrim into the best gaming I have ever played. I still get a bit frustrated that I can be seen or heard when i can't see or hear them but the realism is about as good as it can be. Anyone looking to make stealth more beleavable in Skyrim should check out Shadow Play. Now i'm waiting for Realistic Lighting to post their big update in Nov. Kudos on your efforts and thanks for making my Skyrim a better place. Also thanks for not just extending the search time. You did some homework!
