Remove the entire [MapMenu] section from the ini. If that doesn't work, backup your ini files and make sure you DO NOT have one named skyrim.ini. The game should automatically recreate a default one when you start the game. If you do this, you may need to reset any graphic settings you changed before.
So I downloaded this mod, and it worked for a while but now it just messes up my map to the point where it's an entire gray landscape with POIs. No terrain, no snow no water, just gray. Inside or outside towns, it doesn't matter (the map mod I have doesn't work indoors).
I wanted to back it out, so I took my .ini file and edited it back to what I thought it was before, but it didn't work, no change at all in-game.
Then I remembered that I made a backup of the original .ini file before I modded it the first time (smart enough to back up but not smart enough to remember I had a backup ). But even when I restored my original .ini file, the map is still the same kind of messed up that it was with the patch and the first attempt at fixing it.
Did the mod do things to other files that I need to restore it order to get things back? Or did I mess things up when I tried to fix it without restoring the original .ini file?
