Dude, if you know how, you really should. While I am here and on this with you, do you think I could request a version without BS gains? I really love your mod but to me, I feel like I am cheating by leveling so fast just off making leather and ingots. And thank you for this mod too btw. Or tell me what part in the construction set you changed and I can remove it. I am pretty versed in the CK.
I've just uploaded a new version that includes batch recipes for all the baseline Hearthfires items such as nails and hinges and so on. Hopefully that will help you and others with your house building projects.
If you don't like the Smithing xp gained from this mod, it'd be easiest to open the mod up in TES5Edit and delete the FURNITURE section, there are two edits to forms in that section that relate to changes to the Tanning Rack and Smelter crafting stations. Remove that section and you'll no longer get xp from using those stations.
Hi Urtho I would like to ask if there is any chance you can expand this to alchemy and enchanting? Just to lessen boredom of leveling those support but important skills? Like: 1. Prepare 50 unenchanted 50 iron daggers + 50 petty soul-filled gems at the arcane enchanter table select enchantment+dagger+soul gems = voila 50 enchanted daggers and up goes your enchanting level minus the boredom and chance of damaging and wearing your tendons in your hand from excessive and repetitive clicking of mouse and keyboard. How about that or I'm just dreaming for a mod like that?
The Enchanting and Alchemy crafting stations work differently than the Tanning Rack and Smelter do. The latter stations rely on constructable object records (COBJs) to create specific items from a precise amount of explicitly required components, where as Enchanting and Alchemy do not. Those two stations use hardcoded functions that were not designed to use multiple items in their creation process. It's an interesting idea you have there but there's no way to change the way the system works for those skills/crafting stations as far as I know.
Hi, if so, any chance to make a mod that instead of crafting all those 50 enchanted daggers at the same time, gives you one button to push 50 times? Cause the problem is still there. I mean usually you need to select a type of enchantment, a soul gem, a dagger... literally every time. It would be easier to preselect/fix these conditions like recipes in alchemy do and then just push the button "craft" as many times as you need.
Just realized while going through my mods looking for updates that I never endorsed this. Done now. This is very helpful and appreciated. Shame it doesn't get more attention.
Yeah, I experimented with giving experience from the batch crafting recipes in an early test version of this mod when I first had the idea and was playing around with the numbers and recipes and found it works out like you say it does. XP is granted based on the value of item(s) created so you'd think it would work but the formula doesn't take into account multiples of items crafted at the same time, but instead expects the player to craft one item at a time to grant skill XP.
Kind of limiting and annoying if you wanted to changes things as you've done and I experimented with so that you'd gain Smithing skill XP from batch crafting on the items not set up to grant it by default but that's the way Bethesda designed the system. Short of scripting in a new formula / xp skill system (which is beyond my expertise heh) it'll have to remain this way.
Endorsed! Great mod, thank you very much! Works spectacularly with increased mine production mods that leave you with loads of ore to smelt.
FYI, I am using a personal mod I made that changes smelters and tanning racks to give smithing XP, I figure smelting ore is just as much a part of smithing (perhaps more so!) as beating an iron stick with a hammer. Batch smelting 20 ore at a time will only give 1 usage point. It doesn't matter for me, I maxed out my smithing a few days ago before finding this mod.
@Valmere - Crafting anything with Smelters and Tanning Racks grants no experience at all by default so it doesn't matter how many you craft at a time, they all give you zero towards any skill improvement. As for expanding it to other items, well I could I suppose for some of the most commonly used crafting recipes but that wasn't really the intent of this mod. I'll think about it.
@Mithoron, NDVAZONE, and PsxMeUP - you're welcome, glad you like the mod.

It is great isn't it? I'm never going back the default font that's for sure.
What font do you use, because it looks awesome O.O
