A great idea for a mod and its implementation, like a thief / acrobat / assassin - it's logical that my character has an advantage in speed over the enemy. Many thanks!
Thanks. I may pick this mod back up whenever I get the special edition, and finally do the attack speed gloves too. Though I'd be surprised if someone else hadn't beat me to it.
Sorry for never following up on anything. I haven't really had a gaming computer for over a year since this mod. I'm guessing someone else has done what I intended by now. If I manage to get back into Skyrim I'll probably do them anyway.
In other news, with the arrival of Dragonborn I may actually make those attack speed gloves I had intended to make so long ago. Time will tell if I do this or if I just selfishly make a pair for myself.
I feel like I should put this up on Steam Workshop too.
I probably could do that, but I don't want to because of two reasons. First, Skyrim doesn't have a means to jump below your maximum jump height like Deus Ex and Dishonored do, for example. You always have to jump as high as you can which is annoying, especially indoors. The second reason is that jumping really high can allow you to access places you're not supposed to, like dungeon exit paths and over various walls.
You might try looking for another mod that does this. I wouldn't be surprised if they existed.
That's actually more or less what I did. It doesn't turn the screen black, it just causes intense blurriness; you can tell if you're walking into a wall, but not much else. I figured in Morrowind you had a minimap at least, so you should still be able to tell how fast you're going.
Maybe instead of casting total blindness, you can use one of the preexisting spell state in the game. Not sure what it is called, but there are a few sequences in quests where your vision goes funny from being sedated - like when you get shot by a certain someone with a tranquilizer dart in the Thieves Guild quest. Maybe that exists as a spell effect state? Just an idea.
Btw - just want to add that this mod is a MUST if you, like me, have disabled fast travel.
I made them and they work to some extent, but they're unacceptably buggy. For instance, there's a way to make yourself not blind while wearing them, or blind while not wearing them. Without knowing how to script, I feel I'm kinda stuck.
I've lost interest in Skyrim for the time being, but whenever I get back into it I'll probably take another stab at them.

With enchanted boots and a ring that 224% speed, I fly through the air swiftly as bats should instead of the slow
