1 do a clean save 2 reinstall 3 put it last to your load order 4 try it first to lydia (talk to her use the dialogue in vanilla not tru any mods) then give her a helmet. when you close inventory panel you will know it work when she doesn't equip the helmet,,, do this inside breezehome for faster result coz it is a small cell then spawn a small enemy spider tru console command to see if she auto equip the helmet in battle....
i play skyrim again now in 2018, from what i remember from this mod when i last used is that when i give my follower a helmet and weapon is drawn it does not became invisible, when i sheathed my sword then my follower helmet turns off(also my follower sheathed his/her sword), i repeat it many times to see if there is something wrong but it works smoothly, same as my follower when i draw my sword my helmet turns off and vice versa, i come up with at least 9 max followers with no trouble using EFF as multiple follower mod, those 9 followers of mine will draw their sword when i draw mine and WE ALL AUTO EQUIP HELMETS same as when i sheathed the sword they all turn off their helmets and sheathe their sword synchronize with me turning off my helmet i remember this mod works like that before. (P.S. my followers auto equip their helmets when a hostile enemy is nearby me even without me drawing my sword and auto equipping my helmet.) and no i did not use AFT alongside this mod. i use EFF
is that is bug or something else coz when i reinstalled this mod it doesn't do what it did before. kinda sad for me coz i used to role play war scenario like before the charge i can see all their faces then auto equipping when i draw my sword then kill kill kill....
For those who are having trouble in a new game, when you recruit a new follow do this in the console 1) help "scarab" 2) should see one QUST entry 3) stopquest <id> 4) startquest <id> 5) reequip follower helm
Ok im going to be honest with you...... THIS MOD IS THE BEST f*#@ing s#*! EVER, LIKE LIKE I WILL FKINNG GIVE YOU A SUCC IF YOU ASK FOR IT, THAT IS HOW GREAT THIS IS M8
It works for me now. I tested with 6 followers, travel random locations, go into dungeons, interiors and exteriors environment and it all works great. Well if using my steps, the key is to have a clean save, remove all my followers helm 1st, then remove this mod completely, download back the mod and install v1.0 via NMM (don't enable yet), overwrite with v1.5, put at the lowest order of the mod manager and enabled, load the clean save game and there you go 6 followers with helmet during combat and without outside combat. I'll be testing on more followers later on.
cool mod, love the Idea..was buggy. I may have had a conflict ...but with what? EFF, wet & cold, Winter is coming, Hoods And circlets. Not sure. I never could get it to work with more than one follower. Every time it rained she would equip a random hood. it just showed up in her inventory, if removed it'd spawn again in the next storm.
I fixed some load order problems with mods (not this mod) that had to do with hoods & armor & NPCS. removed all followers head gear- made clean save re-installed V1.0 & overwrote with v1.5, moved this mod's plug in toward the bottom of my load order. loaded the clean save - gave followers head gear and now have it working on three followers.
There are conflicts when using with CLOAKS OF SKYRIM/ WET&COLD/WINTER IS COMING. That MOD group and this MOD are both equipping headgear. I recommend turning off W&C's " follower" option in the MCM menu. -Giving followers headgear to equip in an outdoor cell can cause one or both mods to stop working. -A follower going into combat while wearing an auto equipped hood from W&C can cause both mods to stop working. W&C will work fine for other NPC's but not followers.
it does seem like the above process needs to be repeated every time you dismiss or gain a new followers. Removing follower head gear and disabling this mod, then re-abling using the above instructions solved the issues I encountered. I really dig what this mod does and have endorsed it.
