Actually it does work. The mod consists of two parts: an esp plugin and a couple of folders. The esp is read and used by your Skyrim game just the same as it is by mine, or anybody else's. So if it works for me (and some 45 000 other users), it will work for you PROVIDED THAT YOU HAVE FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY AND HAVE NO OTHER MODS THAT CONFLICT WITH PERSONALIZED MUSIC. As for the folders, they are just folders -- they can't really not work. So, there is no magic here: you can get the mod to work, it just takes some patience and careful reading. Check the troubleshooting section again. Use all the nice tools we have available these days (TES5Edit, LOOT, BOSS and so on) to check for conflicts and other issues.
In the end, some mods may be completely incompatible with each other. This simply means that you have to make a choice between them.
2) Will you make an addon for XYZ mod (Falskaar, Elsweyr, My Favourite Player Home, etc) or further develop the mod?
Sorry, no -- I'm too lazy/don't have any interest in doing that. I seem to recall that, back in the day, I said I would make an addon for Falskaar specifically, but that won't happen.
3) Will you make a Personalized Music for Fallout 4?
No. I don't own the game and don't have time to play it in the foreseeable future. Besides, without being falsely modest, the fact is that this mod isn't very good. It does what it says on the tin, but it is very basic. It's foremost merit was being the FIRST mod that let people modify the music of their games by adding new tracks (I released the first version of the mod a few weeks after the Creation Kit was launched). However, since then so much has happened in Skyrim modding (much better script extenders, MCM in-game menus, customized FOMOD installers, etc). So, a modern version of the mod should be more dynamic and customizable, allowing the user to add as many tracks as they wish to any of the playlists, and also have built in support for batch converting and renaming added tracks. This is not for me to do, however -- I'm really not a computer guy and know nothing about programming and such.
Besides, F4 has been out for more than half a year now, so I'm sure there already are mods that do what this mod does (only better). And if there isn't, this may be a golden opportunity for YOU to become a modder. (And a music mod will in all probability have the advantage of being too complex for anyone to simply steal it and upload it on the Steam Workshop.)
4) Can I use your mod in my own project?
For the most part, yes. I've changed the Legalities section of the mod description. Do what you want with the mod so long as it isn't re-uploading it elsewhere (or on the Nexus, for that matter), or use it (or parts of it) for commercial purposes -- forever free and all that. Just credit me and I'm happy.
5) How did you make the mod?
I wrote a quick and dirty tutorial a long time ago here: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/669064-additional-music-pack-ii/page-2#entry5290603. However, I'm sure you can find better ones (also with moving pictures on the tube) elsewhere.
6) I PMed you, but you didn't answer -- what gives?!?
I apologize. I haven't had any interest at all in Skyrim or modding for a long while and only seldomly logged in to the Nexus, and there are always a lot of PMs to answer, so your message has simply fallen by the wayside... Again, I am sorry for that.
Weird: the Town-Day tracks all work fine, but nothing I've put in any of the specific city tracks seems to be working at all! Could Open Cities be the culprit?
In the music folder, add a new folder named "special". Get your chosen song and rename it "mus_maintheme.xwm". After that the main menu song will change.
Thanks for creating this mod, I tried out 3-4 songs and it works good so far. I used .wav format cause my VLC player can't play .xwm good, since it has stuttering and static and stuff. I am neither music nor technical expert so I didn't look too much into it. If anyone finds it helpful, I used Audacity app to crop/edit chosen music in .mp3 format, then converted to .wav via LazyAudio converter that's on this forum. Audacity can export to .wav but I found this lazy converter and assumed that its made for Skyrim and has good enough .wav specifics to play it good ingame. After I got .wav files I copy-pasted songs in specific folder or folders then renamed them according to TrackLimit text file guide that is in each folder. You can force play music via console command AddMusic ID. IDs you can find on UESP website.
I'd suggest using MultiXWM, it's a program that allows you to convert back-and-forth between .mp3, .wav, and .xwm, it can even do hundreds of songs at once, if you want.
Was trying to make a 2016/Golden Age Movie Berserk music replacer with this. I was pretty sure I did everything correctly, but I get this weird static sound for some songs while others play just fine. For instance, "Hai Yo" plays without issue, but the songs I chose for Dungeons all seem to just play this weird static sound. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Moreover, vanilla music sometimes plays even though I downloaded version 6. Odd. If anyone has any advice, it would be most appreciated
I put some tracks into the Temple folder (XWM formatted and correctly labelled), but they only seem to play at High Hrothgar, and never in the Temples. Maybe I need to adjust my ESP position in the load order, not sure.
Is there any way to shuffle the tracks or make them play in random order? Everytime I enter the town, Song 1 starts playing. Then I enter the tavern and exit the tavern, then Song 1 starts playing again. Like this, all I'm listening to is Song 1 even though Im in the town for like 20minutes....
There's a bug with the town playlists. You forgot to add the corresponding Music Types to the town cells (They're all set to Default, not MUSTownXXXX).
Setting the Music Type to Default in the cells, although allowing for certain custom exploration tracks to play out, doesn't allow the custom tracks for each individual town to be used by the World cells of each city.
In case someone wants to fix this by themselves, all you have to do is load up the mod in the CK, go to the Cell View window, and search for the "RiftenWorld", "MarkarthWorld", "SolitudeWorld", etc, in the World Space option. Once you find them, right click on any of the cells that are displayed, click edit, and select the Music Type option. Change "Default" for "MUSTownRiften", "MUSTownMarkarth", etc or the necessary Music Playlist for each of the important cells in the town you desire to target (Meaning you don't need to do this for each of the dozen "Wilderness" cells that show up in each "World").

Is it a way to do that with TES5Edit?
I'm sorry I don't know anything about modding ^^'
Also turns out this wouldn't work for me anyway; I tried to open this in the CK multiple times recently and it crashed every time.
