Oh my goodness, it works! Due to switchable graphics on my laptop I can't upgrade my drivers from 12.2 (thanks HP!) but this patch means I can play Skyrim using my high-performance GPU and no stupid pixellation issues. Thank you so much, and please never take this down. I'll be endorsing once that 15 minute timer is up =P

I tried just about everything I could think of; I downloaded the latest drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled, tried every possible combination of settings with the Catalyst Control Center and Skyrim's graphics settings. Anti-Aliasing off/on, 2x, 4x, 8x, etc. Nothing has worked for me since this fix was rendered unusable by a Bethesda update. I even began to notice the same pixel issues occurring in almost every other game I have purchased since Skyrim.

    Finally, I found a simple solution that worked with all of my games;

I bought a Nvidia graphics card!

    Problem solved.

I just installed 12.4, and that didn't fix the banding, though it did seemingly fix another issue.

Would there be any harm in trying this in addition to it?

Would this be the problem I'm having? I tried updating to 12.4, and it didn't help. Also tried the fix, didn't work either.

The 12.4 Catalyst upgrade did NOT fix my pixelization problems with Skyrim. I'm running windows XP 64 bit. I wonder if that makes a difference.

drivers 12.4 finally fixed it for me. I made sure to uninstall the hotfix with the uninstaller.bat before installing the 12.4 drivers.

    Vista home premium 32 bit, R5670, 2xAA, 8xAF, 1440x900.

After researching, it turns out its the game and one of the recent updates. I really need to upgrade to 64bit to use my full 4GB ram. I just don't want to have to install everything again. D:

    Hey Guru.

12.4 was released, and it's fixed Skyrim.

I'll just going to confirm that now...

    Hi ChunkyTomatoFTW,
Don't know what could be causing those crashes. I would do the following.
    a. Uninstall the hotfix. Check those saved games, see if it crashes.
    b. Re-download AMD Catalyst v12.3 from http://downloads.guru3d.com/AMD-Catalyst-12.3-WHQL-32-bit-download-2891.html
    c. Uninstall AMD Catalyst from Control Panel/Programs/Programs and Features.
    + restart PC.
    + Install CCC v12.3
    + restart PC.

At worst, you could try Catalyst v12.1 found here.
