This is not lore friendly, the draugr take care of the dungeons, cleaning, lighting torches and what-not, just keeping the dungeons relatively clean and in good condition, making it so that the lights are all burnt out makes it so the draugr are lazy slackers, so make it so draugr don't attack you, and the dungeons are full of overgrowth, fungi, and wildlife, and so that dragon priests and dragons will attack draugr on sight..

..and that is stupid, lazy lore. Why would the dead need light? Why would they care about 'tidying up'? They wouldn't.

The Draugr keep Nord ruins maintained in preparation for the rise of Alduin and the return of the dragon cult. That's TESV lore. Simple as. Some books even claim that, in the tombs of the Dragon Priests, the Draugr pray to the corpses of said Dragon priests and confer energy to them, maintaining their lichdom so that, when Alduin returns, they'll remain at full strength.

      @DrShadelore

That banned guy is right, though: it's still stupid lore.

    pros:
    >scary dungeons
    >its a entire new experience
    cons:
    >conflicts with EVERYTHING, even vanilla quests stops to work, like recovery kharjo's moon amulet
i understand this is an old mod and some autor needs to make a new one from scratch

I like the idea of this, however, if you look into the lore, Nordic ruins should be a touch brighter. Draugr are essentially glorified caretakers at the behest of the Dragons and Dragon priests. Their undeath is magical in nature, and draugr regularly get up from their alcoves, walk around lighting braziers and replacing candles and torches, and then return to their alcoves and go back into a death-state, giving some of their life force to nearby dragons and dragon priests in the process, being sustained in undeath in return.

...and occasionally they visit towns to resupply on oil and candles. -_-
This is the silliest idea I ever heard in the Elder Scrolls.

There is plenty of oil within the ruins. They were built by the Ancient Nords with this design purpose.

    I just spotted this:

Contains dirty edits: 0 ITM, 2479 UDR records. Needs TES5Edit cleaning. A cleaning guide is available here.

Um... hope it doesn't ruin the mod if I clean it XD.

Isn't that from disabling / deleting light sources?

Yes.  The UDR's are records that have been deleted instead of disabled.  "Un-Deleting and Disabling References" in Tes5Edit will "Un-Delete" those records, and set to "Disabled".

The problem arises when you delete a record in the CK (a light source in this instance), and another mod makes a reference to that deleted record.  That's when you CTD.  The game is being told to look for something that isn't there, so it quits.

Quote from Creation Kit Wiki in regards to Un-deleting and Disabling References:
      http://www.creationkit.com/TES5Edit_Documentation#Un-deleting_and_Disabling_References

"This ensures that if another mod tweaks/changes the item you deleted, that the item will still be in the files (just disabled), and thus won‟t cause Skyrim to crash" (edited slightly for game relevance)

Afaik UDR's are always safe to clean, and always should be.  ITM's on the other had can sometimes be required for a mod to function properly, and are a lot less likely to cause you any major problems than UDR's.

so is there an undeleting version yet?
I wondered why my fires were still lit but I cleaned it so I know now why
But I'd still like to maintain a stabile game, you know

It's not working anymore. I haven't changed anything or gotten any new mods save an unarmed killmove one, but my dungeons and caves are bright as vanilla.

Check your load order, you want this to be very low -- otherwise other mods that use the area space or reference it will use vanilla settings.

NMM says there's a newer version of this than 1.0 up on the file list but the tab only shows one file. Has my NMM just muddled itself up or...?

It's because the latest version on top here says 1.00 but the file is identified as 1.0.

UDR 2479! That should probably be fixed.
