In case anyone is wondering, I use this mod with about 130 mods installed, all the DLC, SKSE 1.7.3, and USLEEP. Everything works fine. I haven't had any problems.
Just to any who may be curious, This mod appears to still function properly on the newest skyrim. (tested on Skyrim w/Dragonborn and Hearthfire run with SKSE, with the Official and Unofficial patches for all)
Tested with all dlc's, their unofficial patches, SKSE and a host of other mods. Still works fine, you can even keep items you have enchanted with backstab once the mod is removed as someone mentioned below and they still work as intended, but while backstab is still in the enchanting list, you cannot use it to enchant more gloves with the mod removed (didn't test it on any other type of item).
I was wondering once I disenchant the Shrouded gloves and apply the enchanment to a ring or necklace can I disable this mod and still have the enchantment be in my game?
I can confirm it still works. I used NMM and after I disabled this mod, the enchantment is still on the gloves (dragonscale), tested attacking with it and still gave me a 30x sneak multiplier (with assassin's blade perk), and the enchantment is still learned (i.e, you can try to enchant a hand armor with it. It's in the disenchant menu).
Actually, no, it isn't a scripted event, strictly speaking. I DID figure it out a little bit ago though.
Go to "Actor" - "perks", and find the Backstab perk
Then go to the bottom, and click on the one option for effect there, and you get a window for the further details. This has a further option in here that you can click. When you click it, it has "1 handed" on it. I changed it to "Marksman" and it seems to work If you didn't make that change, it would exclude every attack form other than.
Then I had to assign a magic effect, and have it give the perk, just the the backstab one did. Set up the enchantment, and then the item, and it's working now.
...
@Valheruu : I noticed you answered me, but I had found the solution between my post, and seeing it. Thanks for the effort though.
I also found out another bit of info though while pokeing around ... I tried to make another perk for enchanting to add another point of Extra Effect, and add another effect on magic items. It seems to be hard-coded to only allow a max of 2 enchants though. (*shrugs*) O well. Everything has it's limits, I guess

As a side piece, the conjure mount effect, there is another mod that does that effect as well, with several customizable options. Nice piece of work.
