My friend, in vanilla Skyrim human flesh is a rare ingredient wich you can only found in few places around the world. You can loot it from Falmers, but the drop chance dont really worth it. I recommend you download a mod wich allow you "farm" Human Flesh, like this one:
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/80651
Is a kind of cheating but is very usefull if you really need human flesh and hearts.
Your screenshot for turning a grand soul gem into a black one says it uses 4 grand soul gems and a deadra heart, but your description says otherwise, which is correct?
Can you tell me which files I need to download in order to get the conversions from the various types of soul gem fragments to Polished Soul Gem Fragments (was that this mod or some other? ... ok nvm that was http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19063/? ), conversions of lower level soul gems to higher including black soul gems, but NOT conversion from higher to lower and if possible NOT conversion of filled soul gems at all?
P.S.: Craftable Black Soulgems by Zer0Burn has been taken down.
I've downloaded and enabled the version with forge, but I still don't get the option when I go to use a forge. Anyone know what might be the cause of this?
The hierarchy in this is all kinds of screwed up. Most of the gems seem to be working backwards, IE downgrading, rather than upgrading. Either make it so you can only upgrade from one kind to another, or re-name the ones that are the result of breaking apart better gems.
It would be nice if you could craft petty soul gems from 4 fragments (3 seems to be about the same size as a petty gem, and most conversions are lossy).
It might also be nice if the black soul gems could only be crafted at night, or on a new moon. I'd suggest doing it the Oblivion way, but "Shade of the Revenant" didn't follow a real sane pattern, since things like jail time screwed it up.
I also vote for a 'official' patch for Better Sorting.
A quick way to get what you want is to do it yourself, you will need TES5Edit, just load this mod, go to the recipe objects and delete them, save on exit and you're good to go.
A good reason to do it this way is TES5Edit will back up the esp, and leave your load order intact.
Plus, you'll get to look into the face of gobs of data and emerge victorious.
@Envyi, same goes for you, just pop in TES5Edit and rename the gems yourself, 5 minutes and your happy.
