I like the mod but the greyjoy race is kinda bad. The Greyjoys need be tall, with dark hair (the current version only has grey and blond). All the greyjoys have either dark or grey hair.

OK, seeing as this is a two year old mod that doesn't seem to have anyone looking after it anymore I doubt any of my comments will be addressed here, but I would like to put my experience with this mod on here at the very least as a warning to anyone else who is planning to use this mod to make a brand new character and play Skyrim through the main storyline like I tried to do.

The first thing you need to know about this mod is that it is NOT compatible with Live Another Life. When I first tried to start a new game with both installed instead of bringing me to the small jail cell I was so used to, it started playing the vanilla opening...without video. I immediately checked to see if it was a load order issue, but it did not matter which was loaded first, this was always the result. This did not hinder me of course, I just wanted to play Skyrim as a Stark or Lannister far too badly for that. I simply uninstalled my alternate start mod and resolved to play through the vanilla opening.

I want to say at this point that I really did love the races from this mod. If someone made a version that added them to the game without all the other changes(including a very subtle lack of Imperials as a playable race for some uncertain reason) it would be inside my game in three seconds flat.

After I had created my Character I ran through the usual rigamarole of Helgen Keep, excited to almost be free of the familiar yet slightly dull tutorial level when I noticed my next issue. For some reason, just before the exit Hadvar decided that he did not for any reason want to leave the damned cave. No matter how many times I reloaded, this issue would not resolve itself, and going into the console to manually move the quest forward would do nothing as well. I even went so far as to summon a second Hadvar just outside of the cave, and he simply stood in one place like a lemon; continuing to refuse to complete his one little job and walk me to Riverwood.

Soon after I gave up on my old friend and decided to head to Riverwood on my own, I discovered why he had opted to hide in a cave instead of joining me on the road to his uncle's quaint little smithy. When I arrived I was met with something I had not expected from what was advertised as a RACE MOD: a SEVEN FREAKING FOOT TALL NORD with DREMORA HORNS, DRAGON SCALE ARMOUR, and a DEADRIC WARHAMMER killing LITERALLY EVERYTHING!!!!

Sir Gregor Clegaine is nigh unkillable for a first level character, knocks every unessential NPC in Riverwood strait to Sovengard while you make your way towards him to quickly find out the previous fact, and is apparently so terrifying that he causes Ralof and Hadvar to wet themselves and refuse to leave the safety of Helgen keep. Perhaps you could find them leading the bandits who inhabit the city later in the game if you make it that far. I wouldn't know, I've never played with this installed long enough to find out. All I know is that it seems to royally screw over anyone who tries to play the main quest.

So really, my suggestions are as follows:

    1. If you are the author of this mod and ever decide to work on this again, please, for the love of Talos, PLEASE, at the very least move the Mountain. He kinda screws people over. I suggest putting him in Rorickstead. The place is kind of useless anyway, and it wouldn't mess with the story at all.

    2. If you are a player looking for a fresh new character to make Dragonborn while adding a bit of a nice "Game of Thrones" vibe to the world of Nyrn, this is really not the mod for you. Unless the issues are fixed when you read this I would suggest giving it a pass and saving yourself the stress that I went through trying to get it to work. Perhaps try one of the weapon or armour mods instead, they tend to be a lot less game breaking.

While I love and appreciate the Song, and your energies into making some theme-playable action in this genre, let's be clear here: these are not "races". These aren't even nationalities - they're factions, in the sense that Stormcloaks and Imperials are also factions. They are families in the story for certain, but races? They're all humans.

Totally downloading it anyway, and I'll totally support any related works as well because it is a great idea! But maybe think a bit more about your naming conventions? You've read the Song I take it - so we know you know true creativity when you see it. Keep at it, hope to see more progress soon!

I realize this is an very old post, but I would like to point out that every house used as a race in this mod are actually a different race of human. The Lannisters are Andals, the Greyjoys Ironmen, the Starks are Firstmen, the Martells Dornishmen, and the Targaryens are Valyrian. House Baratheon is a hybrid of Valyrians and either Andals or Firstmen, I can't actually remember which at the moment.

So yeah, they are all actually separate races, just named poorly. Just thought it was worth mentioning.

Perhaps an idea for the greyjoys would be to find more loot like rings and amulets etc on their victims..... "paying the iron price" have i got that right? just a suggestion :p
