I'm liking the idea behind this mod a great deal. But thing it needs different versions of how often someone is knocked out. Even a 50% chance leaves too much potential for error to use blunt objects as a stealthy tool.
I'd suggest a version where it's possible to have a 95% chance it will work by level 3. The balancing factor would be the target must not have detected you. It needs to be a stealth hit to have a nearly garinteed chance to work. That way you're either not able to knock people out in battle, or the chance is reduced to something like 15% at absolute best.
I would like to request a version of this mod that involves a three-tiered perk which goes from 40% to 65% to 90% knockout percentages. This way, an experienced waylayer can knock-out most enemies, but those who are less experienced are not always going to knock-out their target but it is still possible for them. Thanks!
You should do this instead of awful paralysis, it will be maybe more easier :
- The target " dies ", meaning the player can interact with the body ( loot it, move it around etc ) - After a random or fixed time, the " dead " target resurrects, like she was only knocked out and not dead - ??? - Enjoy !
There are times when I prefer going non-lethal, but as another commenter mentioned, I dislike the percent chance property, as it means I have to reload until I knock'em out proper. Awesome accomplishment, however it needs some revision!
This is cool. I may have to take a look to see how you accomplished it. I've been trying to figure out the best way to do "knock-out drops", a poison I can shoot/pickpocket onto targets. Armed with the 0-damage practice bow mod, it makes for a perfect non-lethal way to get to get them out of the way for a while.
I was definitely waiting for this. It made a huge difference for stealth in the Oblivion Thievery mod. The only problem was that found bodies were counted as murders; I'm wondering if that same issue will exist in Skyrim.
I intend to publish several versions of this mod soon. I will publish a version with a single 100% chance perk but I will keep the other version as well since in real life, knock outs are not so frequent.
I like the premise of this mod, but you need to clean it. It changes a bunch of actor values that aren't directly related to the purpose of the mod. You can clean it with the SkyEdit tool: load the mod, hit CTRL-R to show only changes and right-click the entries that don't belong - select "Clean" from the menu.
Also, instead of 3 perks to get a 50% chance, I'd prefer a single perk with 100% chance. As some others here have mentioned, the "non-lethal" playstyle is what appeals to me here. A less than 100% chance just means immersion-breaking save-reload until it works. Might as well just have it work all the time (when in stealth).
