Your house is empty? Do you want to fill it with servants, workers, maybe your personal army? Or do you have a modded house with a lot of NPCs but you are bored of them and want to replace? Or maybe you want to assign them new tasks? If your answer is yes to any of these questions, continue reading.

IMPORTANT:

I'm no longer modding classic Skyrim anymore, however, I know some people still play this game and maybe they will think this mod is interesting, so I've uploaded in this page too. Note that I don't visit this page frequently, so, if you have issues, suggestions, or need more explanations, go to Skyrim SE page instead, also to track future updates (since this mod only contains a master file and some scripts, should be compatible with both game versions, requirements are also available for old Skyrim).

Disclaimer

This mod is a work in progress, in fact, I’ve tons of unfinished mods I did for my own use to test something, to try a new idea, or simply for fun, and were abandoned. Eventually, I’ll upload some of them and will continue their development, if they have enough popularity, interest or support. So, note that it will need to be optimized and polished, and may contains some bugs. I haven’t found serious issues, but anyway, I recommend to keep your last save, in case you need to go back if necessary.

If you aren’t sure if this mod is for you, I recommend to download and read the guide, it contains more detailed explanations about features, troubleshooting, etc.

Installation

I recommend to keep your last save before installing, so you can restore your game if you have issues, remember, this is a work in progress and can contains bugs. Most issues related to NPCs can be solved resetting them using console, but some updates can involve a reinstall or cleaning, so it's better to be cautious.

Install requirements (SKSE, PapyrusUtils…), then install this mod as usual, load game, wait until you see new MCM message, if not, enter and exit MCM, this should update it, and new menu will show.

This mod has 2 main purposes: to add new factions that can interact with player in an advanced mode (like followers, spouse, childs), and distribute these NPCs in player home. So, enter MCM and click on add spells option, this will add some spells to player character inventory, that can place home markers, and manage NPCs.

Use the place-markers spell to add them to each home room or exterior location, you must place all of them, even if your home doesn’t have required area, because AI packages will not work if required marker is missing, for example, servants will try to visit all rooms, if you don’t have a children room, place this marker in main room.

Now you can use Set-NPC spell to add characters to each faction, and other included features, and MCM options to assign a job, dismiss, etc. I know, it will be more immersive and funny if we use a dialogue, but I won’t do it because I’m not good doing dialogues, I hate Skyrim dialogue system, and English isn’t my language. However, I can try to develop it as a base/framework and let other modders to create custom dialogues, new events, features…

Uninstallation:

Before uninstalling, go to MCM and use reset mod option to restore all NPCs to default state, wait a bit, go to place without NPCs, save and exit. If you have issues with some NPCs, you can try to reset them using console commands. Note that this mod creates json files to store some data, they are located on Data\skse\plugins\SocialSkyrim and you must delete them manually, this can also be recommended if you are reinstalling the mod, to remove old data that can cause conflicts.

That’s all, now you can try each option until you understand how it work or until you break something, or download and read the guide.
