About this mod

Just a bunch of personal patches I made for Furry Skyrim Expanded

Requirements
Permissions and credits
This is a collection of compatibility patches that I made for various mods to work with Furry Skyrim Expanded. There already exists patches for the more popular mods on their download pages, but not for a few of the smaller mods that I use, so I have made my own patches.

NOTE: This is not for Furry Age of Skyrim, the original mod that predates Furry Skyrim Expanded.

Patches available for mods:

These patches does three things, if applicable:
  • NPC FaceGen files
  • Changes modded headwear to use the meshes of the Khajiit or Argonian counterparts to prevent clipping with animal heads.
  • Furry Skyrim Expanded added some distinct new races like Reachmen and Skaal, which were coded as Breton and Nord in the vanilla game files, despite being different races in lore. Furry Age of Skyrim edited the vanilla NPCs to use their lore races. If the mods add Reachmen and Skaal characters, they will wrongly be Bretons and Nords, despite actually being Reachmen or Skaal. I have corrected that.

Permissions

Do whatever you want with them. They do not contain any custom assets, with the exception of Hoth's patch. Hoth's patch contains a custom Argonian Skull mask to better fit his new Hyena face, which was made by the SkyFurry team. I have permission from the Furry Skyrim Expanded team and the SkyFurry team to publish these patches.

How to make your own Furry Skyrim Expanded Patches:

For black/grey faces:

Search up how to regenerate NPC faces. This patching is required for any mod that edits NPC appearances, not just Furry Skyrim Expanded.

For new armour mods:

Search for the Armour Add-on [ARMA] records in xEdit. Only headwear armour needs patching. Find the records for the armour piece that you wish to patch. There should be separate records for the Argonian and the Khajiit counterpart headwear. Find the part of the record which lists the file path of the beastfolk headwear mesh and copy it into the armour add-on for men, elves, and orcs. Men and elves usually share the armour add-on record. Orcs may also share, but they may also have their own separate armour add-on record. For open-face headwear, I recommend using Khajiit counterpart headwear meshes. For face coverings or closed helmets, I would recommend Argonian counterpart headwear meshes.

For mods that add new humanoid races:

Edit their race records to be a duplicate of an existing furrified race. Regen the NPC FaceGen files for those of the custom race.

For NPCs that have custom hair/head:

For custom heads, delete their head records and have them use the default head of their race. For custom hair, edit their hair record to switch to a Furry Skyrim Expanded hair.
