I like the idea of the mod but can you make a Lite immersive version? With this specs
-You can only hire a npc with required conditions, like speech lvls to 90 or above needed.
-Or becoming the Thane of the Town allows you to take the guards as followers for free.
-And only have 1 follower at the time (vanilla style). That way, mods with multiple followers could work together. Cause I have the Relationship Dialogue Overhaul that would work nicely with this.
Hi,and tnx for trying out my mod. well, what this mod does, is just removing a few conditions and therefore allowing you to hire anyone instead of a few specific NPCs, which means it should be compatible with any other follower mods. perhaps the problem is the maximum follower count, my mod sets it to 99, but other mods usually use different numbers like 10,100,1000 ... any other number except for 1(vanilla game) so, if you install too many follower mods, it's possible that the game cannot decide which number to enforce. so perhaps you have maxed your follower count right now, which means if you loose 1 of your followers,the dialogue shows up again,and you should be able to hire another one.
Can the followers be killed by enemies while in your service? And will this mod work with npcs from mods? I like to roleplay as a commander type character where my troops can die and I need to be mindful of that.
In my experience,they did,but I'm not certain if it was as a result of this mod,or other mods... yes this works on any NPCs that have dialogues, added by mods or console commands or...
lol oldrim XD oh man I entered the modding game a lot later than I should have... if you like such mods though, checkout my fallout4 mods as well, assuming bethesda's last good game piques your interest more
town guards for example, jarls, and many other NPCs the fact is, that console command only works on npcs with a specific voice type (for example the default voicetype of dark elves and orc and some nords) trust me I know what I'm talking about. even with my mod some of those NPCs are harder to hire than others
Tnx. I think I just explained it, my friend. The truth is, using that console command, you are basically stealing(copying) that line of dialogue from one NPC, and give it to someone else who has the same voice type, so if someone doesn't have any of those voices, you cannot make them say "alright I'll follow you" For example, Faendal in riverwood is a potential follower, anyone who has the exact voice as he does, this console command applies to them. do you get it now?

hirelingquest > playerdialogue > hirelingquestopic (bottom) > that's a fair price > delete hirelingvorstag + faction: potentialhireling + global: playerfollowercount <= 50

Not my experience, who won't it work on?

BTW, great that someone finally made a simple hire anyone mod without a load of other bloated features.
