About this mod

Just a simple RaceMenu High Elf character preset for anyone to use at their leisure :).

Everyone complains that the vanilla Elven races look far too "alien" to be "actual elves". Honestly, I heavily beg to differ.

The first time we have seen Elves, to my knowledge, had been when the Lord of the Rings trilogy movies were released 20+ years ago and again in the Hobbit Trilogy 12 years ago.

I do agree that they look incredible both aesthetically and from a movie production standpoint. However, I have always found too  otherworldly and "human" for me to truly appreciate them for what they were.

So, when I saw how Bethesda had designed their own Elven races, I was beyond shocked and excited to play as one. And, quite honestly, the one Skyrim elf race I somehow always end up playing is the Altmer (High Elf) race.

Honestly, I have tried both the Aesthetic Elves and Ethereal Elven Overhaul mods in the past. And while I appreciate the amount of work, time, and effort were put into creating these mods, I always found way too polished and didn't stick to the original design for the Altmer, Dunmer, Bosmer, and Snow Elf races for my tastes.

So, I decided just to stick to the original vanilla look for the Elves and just used either the Mature Skin - Vanilla (Nexus Mods) or Luscious Faces (Steam Workshop) skin retexture mods to achieve what I was looking for.

Because of all of this, I decided to create my own High Elf character preset and post it here on the Nexus for everyone else to use as they saw fit.

Requirements

  • RaceMenu (ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED FOR THIS TO WORK!!)
  • Apachii SkyHair
  • Lind's Mer Eyes

That's all you need to get this to work. Everything else is purely vanilla Skyrim meshes and textures. So, if you want to use Aesthetic Elves or Ethereal Elven Overhaul, you can. Any choice of a skin retexture and/or body replacer is also compatible with this and can be used at your own discretion.

Installation

You'll need to install this by placing it in your CharGen folder in SKSE.

For example: Skyrim --> Data --> SKSE --> Plugins --> CharGen --> Presets

This will only be there once you have installed RaceMenu. So, please install it otherwise this preset will not work properly.

Thank you to all who took the time to look at this!
