About this mod

Whenever the player becomes invisible, they will unequip their armour.

Permissions and credits
Being invisible is such a powerful sneak tool, is it not? A strong, sturdy warrior, clad in Dragonbone armour, can drink an invisibility potion, becoming undetectable. Then, they can just slice a poor enemy's throat before wrecking havoc towards all witness around them once the invisibility stops, protected by the security of their armour.

I believe that is too powerful, so I nerfed invisibility. Now, by either spell or potion, when becoming invisible, the player will automatically unequip all their armour/clothing. Once the player loses invisibility, they will no longer be protected by their armour/clothing. Either keep the armour and risk enemies hearing the loud clanging of your plated steel or trade the armour/clothing for invisibility and risk suffering way more damage once you lose invisibility.

Recommended Mods

Armour Animation - Adds animation whenever you equip armour, so that you cannot instantly re-equip your armour right after you lose invisibility.

Immersive Equipping Animations - LE - Also adds animation whenever you equip armour. This mod also includes optional unequipping animations, which do not trigger when combined with this mod. Thus, going invisible is still seamless.

EVG Conditional Idles - Has animations for your character to cover themselves in embarrassment and shame once they lose invisibility. Sure, the invisibility was worth the sneaking, but was it worth the embarrassing aftermath?

Technical Details

Spoiler:
Show
Whenever the alchemical/spell effect starts on the player character, the armour/clothing items in slots 30 (head), 31 (hair, which most vanilla headgear occupy), 32 (body), 33 (hands), 37 (feet), and 39 (shield) are unequipped. These are the vanilla armour slots, which most armour/clothing items occupy. Custom items that occupy other body slots are unaffected, so vanilla jewellery or backpacks or cloaks are not affected, for compatibility reasons.

You can still re-equip your armour while invisible, but then why use this mod?

Custom items that occupy the vanilla amour slots would be unequipped. Modded items occupying other slots are unaffected.

This mod was inspired by how invisibility works in Minecraft. If you drink an invisibility potion, your clothing remains visible, so for true invisibility, you would have to unequip your armour.

This mod is incompatible with any other mods that modify the invisibility effects for potions and spells. However, almost no mods modify the effects themselves, so this should be nearly universally compatible. Otherwise, use xEdit to patch.
