This Mod is a Dream come True, but I found these issues:
1. Apparently Does Not Work on Vampires From Other Mods Like Deadly Wenches.esp ? 2. How can the damage be increased using parameters?, because although the effect appears on dawnguard Vampires the Damage is Minimal
Note: Using TES5EDIT es pretty easy raise de Sun Damage
JaySerpa intended for the damage to be minimal to not severely nerf all vampires. In addition, Dawnguard increases the difficulty of vampires a lot, for they all have very, very high health to resist the burning.
The burning effect should apply to all NPCs labelled as vampires. If Deadly Wenches.esp doesn't explicitly label their vampires as so, then to the game, they aren't vampires. I am unsure if they use some sort of custom vampire labelling. Are those vampires in combat? The description says this burning effect only applies in combat to prevent friendly vampires from dying in droves.
Thanks for the answer, All Test were made on Combat, I'll try to contact JaySerpa asking this:
1. Using Test5Edit what parameter uses to identify the Vampires : Faction? Race? 2. Vampires affected by the Sun, do not look to the Shadows to protect themselves from Impending Death, they just Die in the end
The detection and distribution is handled by SPID, not the .esp. When I remade the _DISTRI.ini file, which you can find in this mod (it's just a text file), which tells SPID how to distribute the spell, the only criteria is the keyword "Vampire." The distribution file does not specify any race as the criteria. I don't recall off the top of my head whether "Vampire" is a keyword or a faction in the records of the game, but I would suggest searching for the records of a known vampire NPC and search for whether this "Vampire" is the keyword or the faction. Deadly Wenches.esp would need to also have this keyword/faction, whichever is the correct one, in order for the mod to recognise them. I suppose it is possible that mod-added NPCs may be a vampire race, but lack the vampire keyword/faction.
As for the vampires not being able to run into the shadows, well... that is because their health after combat is so low that they were practically dead anyways. The ones who would be healthy after combat won't die easily from the sun because the burning won't trigger anyways. Forcing a new NPC package for vampires to seek shade is probably not worth the effort nor the script load.
"hopefully if you make a new version, please include this behavior as soon as the vampire in Combat has only 20% life left, runs away looking for shadows, that would be Very Very immersive"
Most vampire events, such as vampire attacks on cities, do only happen at nighttime, or the vampires are found in interiors like caves. World encounters for vampires are already pretty rare in comparison, so adding a condition to block daytime vampire encounters would be too minor a change for JaySerpa's vision. Besides, editing conditions for vanilla world encounters would be way less compatible than just punishing vampires who stray into the sunlight, even mod-added ones can suffer as well.
Also, as Darkpig360 says, maybe the vampires are just desperate.
All working cool, looking mod with this functionality for a while for immersive vampire playthroug (since i alwayes become vampire in mid-game), super-great that you backported from SE this exellent work of our beloved dude Jay)
Previous closest mod was this one - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/88129?tab=description In fact its the same as this mod except two things - its killing all friendly vampires if player sleep/wait 1 hour or more anywhere daytime (what is perfectly fixed in this mod, damage apply for them only if they in battle, simple and perfect decision to avoid those insta deathes of Alva And 2nd - author of this mod abandoned it like in 2014 i guess, bcs he not fixed or improved anything after release
Sooo i very happy that im finally found what i was looking for all this time for my vampire immersion (i saw original SE version ofcource but since i am LE player - you backport is super savegrace, gracias)
P.S. Only 1 issue i found (not even bug, just a little incompatability i can live with) - "Ehnchanced Lights and FX" mod destroying detection of shadows for this mod, so in day time (5 A.M. - 19 P.M.) when you outside you would take damage, only houses and caves are safe places But its fine and even giving more immersiveness - because shadows are not completly out of sun light in reality, so its realistic that vampire still struggle even in shadows, also damage not killing you immideatly, on mid-high level with 200-500 or even more HP you can moving around in day time, struggling from that annoying sun but it is what vampire life is about if you dare moving at day, night is your time, wait for it in hideout, very immersive from vampire lore side as for me))
So - big thanks for backport again, its super cool, looking for exact this stuff for years) Cheers)
