Thank you everyone for making this port part of the HOT MODS! I'll try my best to keep it updated and I hope you all keep enjoying this fiiiine mod.
The file was updated to version 4.0 from 2.0 and the changes are as follows:
Potential MCM fix for people with issues. Suspected race condition on initial setup. We'll see.
Cleaned up MCM, made some sections clearer.
Rebuilt some MCM sections and expanded out the hair effect settings into its own page.
Cleaned up hair script and improved a few debug statements.
Overhauled hair effects: 3 categories: weapon combat (now has 4 skills impacted); spell combat (now has 4 categories); crafting (with multiple categories); speech and sneak still separate.
Overhauled hair effects: optional slowdown effect (customizable) with hair down.
Overhauled hair effects: health/magicka/stamina regen to plus minus rather than multiplier.
Overhauled hair effects: separate peace time and combat skill multiplier.
Save script update.
Some stuff I'm forgetting, quality of life improvements I think.
Oh, added a few mcm options that weren't there before, like the option to use formlist locations to automatically switching locations, where before it was forced.
Big edits to the mod description.
Added small delay between removing one hair effect to adding the next, just in case.
Added location of save file in text that appears when hovering over the save option.
Added an effect to Hair Down where your damage or magic resistance can be lowered with hair down (but not hair up). In case you want to use something other than being slowed/penalty for increased regen in combat.
On using profile swap hotkey, if the profile is empty, it will loop to either the next non-empty profile, or back to the first.
Fixed issue where Minimum damage points in hair effect could not be adjusted.
Expanded minimum resistance points out for the hair effect (previously minimum damage did both armor and elemental resistances).
And then, 4.0, specifically:
Rebuilt and tested. Last attempt at MCM fix.
Added a mod event to subscribe to for hair up / down events.
Some mcm tweaks.
This is probably the last update for this backport, so enjoy and have fun! See ya!
Thank you so much for this backport, it's a wonderful mod. I use it with FNIS and Dint999 hairpack and that adds really a nice immersion to the game. Unfortunately I have an issue with the saved slots: After shutting down Skyrim and load it again all slots are empty and I need to set them again. Then it works as long as I'm playing, but after reloading Skyrim slots are empty again. I looked through all the comments on the original modpage but couldn't find a solution. Does anyone know, what's causing this? Every suggestion is welcome.
That's an odd problem. Never had any issue like this with the mod. Maybe the new file with the configurations is being overwritten or deleted somehow? They normally appear in the "Overwrite" folder. Sorry not being able to help you.
So I've found that if I reload a save mid-play (rather than loading a save from the main menu after starting the game), often the hair gets sort of "stuck", and changing hair causes the two styles to layer on top of each other rather than swap. It can be fixed by quitting the game and loading in fresh, but it's annoying to have to do that every time.
Weird, I never had this issue. Perhaps because I rarely reload saves mid-game... I'll check the SE version to see if someone else is having the same problem.
Oh, this is a wonderful mod, many thanks for supporting the backports for LE alive But I would really like to see how the follower switches the hairstyle, it will be so atmospheric. Maybe it will be possible to make a script bind to a specific ID NPC, for example, how is it done in the RDO(Relationship Dialogue Overhaul)? The allocation of the target through the console or to instill the cursor, and its ID is read and processed by the script just like the player? I am very weak in setting up scripts, in fact, I never touched them seriously, but there may be an idea how to realize a mod for followers, uhhhh In any case, thanks for your work
A fantastic mod which really shouldn't've taken so long to be created for Skyrim. Aside from adding another subtle but incredibly effective bit of life to the all-too-wooden Dragonborn, it's great for being able to quickly swap out hairstyles without heading into racemenu and risking weird HDT stretching issues. A true blessing from the Divines.
That's great. Can I ask something off-topic? Hair blown by the wind I saw it in the SE version. Can it be imported to LE? I really like it. It should be called SMP Immersive.
It should be safe, but it never hurts to make a backup.
Download this mod and install as another mod, don't replace the old one. Activate it and let the new version overwrite the old. See ingame if everything works. If it does, delete the older version.
I decided to give this a try, and I really like it. However, I'm finding the animation doesn't always play (it fails to play maybe 60% of the time). Now, this could very well just be my heavy script load. If so, that's entirely on me and it's all good. I just figured I'd mention it, though, in case it is a known issue that could be resolved.
I do plan to continue to use it, despite the animation issues. The hair still changes, which is the point of the mod, so it's still working mostly as intended for me. :)
Definitely script issues, man. I run Skyrim on my twelve year old laptop (Intel HD 3000, second gen i3 and 4GB RAM) at 800x600 and I have this issue mainly on open areas where my fps is under 25, and even then, I rarely have animations related problems. Of course, I bet your rig is much better, but this issue is not from the mod, only a slight stutter when changing hair, because that's the way the engine works I guess.
Try changing the hair inside inns and then doing the same under more performance intense areas and you'll see the diference.
And, just for the record, I configured the mod to only use the "Feminine Animation", not random. Maybe this helps in some way.
I have to say, I hadn't scrolled down on the Settings page... :P I didn't realize there was even an option to choose whether the animations were random or not. I'll try out just "Immersive" rather than random and see if that helps the performance. Thanks!
You can choose the random option, immersive or the Serana hood animation. See which animation you prefer, then try to choose only that option. I hope this solves the problem, I know how annoying those animation bugs can be.
The tied back dreadlocks is definitely Senua's hairstyle from Hellblade (available in dint's Hellblade armour mod - there is an old LE version available from before dint's decision to move to SE only). The long straight hair with side braids that's worn down is from dint hair pack 2 which is slightly harder to find but does exist.

But it probably needs SMP physics, which I can't run here. Anyway, we'll see.
