Beautiful and interesting mod. Many thanks to the author for his work. I wonder if it would be possible to have a dedicated mod of the character Moiraine. I would like to keep her as an exclusive follower in my Skyrim game.
Just finished playing this quest mod. I'm not familiar with the fantasy book series this was based from, but after takong a glance from its reference plot, this gave a nice blend in with TES lore. Here's me feedback with this mod.
Pros: - The plot integrating the reference storyline with TES lore. - Aviendha. She may be a typical Lydia-ish tank warrior follower. But she's marked as an essential and she can almost always catch up with you should she falls behind. - Voice acting. I haven't browsed who's behind these VA but they do sound like pros. - The climactic final siege on... that Soul Cairn-lookalike battlefield. Literally a battlefield with more intense skirmish than the Civil War battles. - Beautiful non-cringy NPCs. - The music, especially the majestic rearranged vanilla music heard in the White Tower. - Serana compatibility. Aviendha and Serana quite get along well. Just watch out for from friendly fire.
Cons: - Though Aviendha is such a reliable follower, she lacks development and plot-based responses and dialogues. She didn't even reacted on a plot NPC's demise once. She remained plain even after the story. - Some recycled dungeon layout like the prison escape tunnel in Raven Rock. - Waiting for several in-game days before the next quests start. Best spend those intervals with some bounty hunting and other radiant quests. - Some painfully loud NPC voices surpassing the likes of Hermaeus Mora and Meridia. - Lacks quest journal entry among completing some stage indexes.
Overall rating: 7.1/10 - Great mod. And it can be done better.
THANK YOU for this great mod!!! I enjoyed it very much. The voice acting is wonderful, the quests are not too long, but still touched me and I absolutely adore Aviendha! Like others here, I had a problem with the last battle Part 2 (CTD or freeze maybe a dozen times) but finally I got over that point (I let the others clear the area from enemies and then rushed through using the console command "tcl"). After that I was able to finish the quest without problems. So thank you again for your great work!
I just did some test before installing it in my LE game, and there are some world cells that have wrong water records, RiverwoodBridge for example (this is known to happen when backporting). I also recommend to remove the broken "HNAM - Volumetric Lightning" values from the weathers WoTBLAmbWthr and SoulCairnAmbDUPLICATE002. These could cause CTD, but all can be easily fixed with TES5edit. Just reporting.
I'm only at the early stages with Aviendha (even if I already have finished all the vanilla main quests: Alduin, Companions, Mage College and Thieves Guild. Atm, I'm at level 60 when I installed this mod) and I had no problems atm (using Xtudo fixes) but I like to report something:
1. As suggested, even if I have the best multifollower mod (NFF), I let Aviendha on its own system. But I feel a lack I'm used to have: followers ability to "relax" and sandbox while asked to wait. It's sad to see Aviendha stuck in place until asked to follow again.
2. Some interactions must have a better check. As I do on every game session, I disabled the "adoptable childs" coming from Hearthfire (the worst addon ever created). Well, I saw Aviendha talking to an invisible child girl in Whiterun, the one I disabled long before.
3. I'm a female player and my characters are always females. There are still too many reference to the "male" Dragonborn: Aviendha tries to give a "husband" to Ysolda and talks with me as I should be the one, Moiraine who talks about the "man" companion of Aviendha revealing I'm the Dragonborn, and so on.
I know that this sort of games are, to say, mysoginic, but I'm really tired.
Anyhow, a very interesting and promising mod. Thank VM to the Author and to the "Porter".

EDIT: Check out my patches, fixes and addons for this amazing adventure:
