I see there are a lot of posts in regards to Hearthfire Children.
The whole system for adopted Children is built up in a completely different way compared to spouses. So, making this mod "work for Children" or have an "add-on for Children" isn't really an option. I.e. it would be possible to move children to a new location. But in order to make children have the same dialog and Schedule as in the vanilla and Hearthfire houses, one need a completely different concept. What is needed is a total stand-alone mod, "Adopted Children can live everywhere". This mod would be way more complicated than the fairly simple and straightforward "Spouses can live everywhere". Amgepo and I have been discussing whether or not to make such a mod. But, then I learnt about this mod by TMPhoenix, which actually already cater for the housing of adopted Children.
I'm posting this as a sticky, as the question keeps popping up ever so often .
Mod from 2013 with this, 12 years have passed, and that's why the DV of this mod didn't respond to me, I don't even know if he's alive!!The pandemic took away millions of people, and many people who developed mods did not survive, so this unfortunate event could also have happened to this developer.
I always read the descriptions not to get lost. I could only make this mod work with a Vanilla NPC the witch Illia Casei and told her the place we were going to live in, she said find you there, and yes she was there. In a new game, I put it to test 2 followers that the author said they were married. I tested with one happened the wedding and I designated the house that we would live alias I was already in the area of the house, as soon as I said my new place she told you there and simply in her inves enter the house of the area she left and I don't find her anywhere. In the tavern where I recruited her she was not waiting 2 days to pass and no finding her there, in the temple of Mara was not, and then I came home and also not there. I use that mod freemarriage, you automatically marry without having to go to the temple of Mara. With these 2 followers I tested in a new game and they disappeared ..... I don't know what to do more. ====================================================================================== I thought this was just me I've been reading the posts here and many people stayed without their wife looking for her everywhere .... This mod doesn't work 100% perfect .... I put the file .ESP in the highest charging order And I started a new game and nothing worked she never goes to the designated house, And I still launched the spell in the house but it didn't work.
Just wanted to let everyone here know that the mod "Marriage Mod - To Have And To Hold" Makes this mod uneffective. UNLESS you put this mod AFTER "To Have And To Hold" in your load order. I think this a big issue in alot of these type of mods.
Hey i've been trying to get this to work for quite a while. I've got to have and to hold but can only get one of my spouses to move into my hearth fire home. I really like the to have and to hold mod but trying to get my wives to move into any hearthfire home has been a nightmare. I did what you suggested and adjusted the load order but...... only works for one wife. please help
1. Download the mod and install manually. 2. Enjoy.
It worked perfectly for me in SE. I use Elysium Estate and I'm married to Muiri. She was at Proudspire in Solitude and I marked Elysium Estate as my "new house" and told her to move there. She showed up a few hours later. I've yet to test Lover's Comfort, as I read that someone wasn't getting that benefit after using the mod.
EDIT: Tested sleeping in the main bedroom and obtained the Lover's Comfort benefit.
I was apprehensive about using creation kit too but it really is as easy as Aureus says. I installed Creation Kit, loaded this mod after manually installing it with Vortex. After I loaded the esp in Creation Kit I hit save and wham bam thank you ma'am. Then I opened it in SSEdit and converted it to an esl flagged esp. Really easy, if you use the Nexus search bar you can find a tutorial for making esp files into an esl. Also Gamer Poets also has a perfect but short tutorial on using DynDoLod which I was also apprehensive to use up until now. Good luck
My wife was already living at my house when I installed this, so when I couldn't find her anywhere in the house after a few days, I went to where she would normally be before I married her and found her. Told her "I'd like us to move somewhere." and only my house in Riften showed up, not Lakeview Manor. There was also a new option "I've found a new home for us, you'll love it." I clicked it but after more in game days she didn't go in anywhere. That's when I figured out I have to set the destination for that option using the spell. I did that for Lakeview Manor and went to talk to her again. I went with the other option again and nothing. She stays in her hometown and never comes to any house I set as the house I want her to live in. Uninstalling because without it on I can at least get her to live in Lakeview or any other vanilla house.
do i need a new game or what? cause my spouse wont move to my new custom house, and even if i took her with me to the house and told her to part ways she will just stand there like a statue, never moving to any other spot, and still talks and all that but whats the point if the spouse is just standing in 1 spot? i tried everything resetting the ai disable enable, and it still does not work, so i'm guessing i need to start a new game, i just want to know if its the only way.
https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/wiki/dangerous_mods_masterlist This mod is somewhat outdated. Try "Hearthfires Multiple Adoptions" or "Marriage Mod - To Have And To Hold" instead.
The problem with Multiple Adoptions is that it's really a kids mod. Which mean, your spouse cant move into any custom house that does not support children. VERY annoying if you don't want kids. And most custom houses do not support children. Especially the smaller houses.
This mod still works for me though. Try placing it at the bottom of your load order.
I'm fairly sure it did work when I used this, abut haven't for a long time , ... Did you use power " mark new home " and then ask your spouse to go to where ever ?

Does your mod work with Skyrim SE ?
Or will you make this mod also for Skyrim SE ?
Thanks
