Had to reinstall mods. NMM and Wrye bash do not see the mod under plugins. I tried to do manual install and over NMM, but didn't help. The m od simply doesn't exist as a plugin.

it depends on your mod manager. this is a texture mod. it just replaces textures. no esp or additional plugin is used or needed. it overwrites a vanilla texture (or any mod which changes this texture) if correctly installed.
i use mo2 and all my mods  are shown in the left pane of mo2 (conflicts only if not bsa packed), regardless of existing esp or not, which is shown in the right pane. loose files mods must be enabled (depends on mod manager) to overwrite other mods! if enabled everything should work.

i do not have any current experiences with nmm and wrye bash, only some bad in 2015 and since then i changed to mo. better use a supported and stable mod manager like mo2. there is a reason why nmm is not supported by nexusmods anymore since 2016. check also your settings for simple texture mods. if everything works - it's ok on your own risk. if not change to a supported or at least reliable working mod manager which has the ability to handle loose file mods without a headache or as the  - quick and dirty - option install these loose file mods manually (with all the risks!) in the data folder and check if they can overwrite vanilla bsa and other mods.

Does this work on any body mods?

should work. my mod changes just the face normal map texture. no body parts.

Any reason this is only Altmer & Dunmer, not Bosmer?

i found two folders for female elves faces. both are included in the mod. let me know if you know more textures and the folder path with the face texture to replace. thanks. i found only darkelffemale and highelffemale folder in vanilla with a normal map i can replace. woodelffolder does not include a face normal map. woodelf female face seem to be covered by one of the two other folders. at least my experience after testing

it turns out there is a small Neck color difference between the head and body. I'm using UNP with Fair Skin Complexion. there is no conflict between these mods because Fair Skin Complexion does not change the elves. But i think i have an idea to handle it

i use also unp and i can confirm a little color deviation . my problem is that i have this slight deviation also with other mods. let me know if you have a general solution for this problem. i will have a closer look at it.

In my idea, I plan to use photoshop to combine the Fair Skin Complexion and your mod by simply putting your skin to a layer on top of Fair Skin, then erase the neck part with a 0 hardness brush to blend in. The only problem is to convert it back to .dds textures

use paint.net (freeware) for bc7 high quality dds conversion! use lossless tga format to transfer.
i have this color deviation only with the brighter green high elf skin. dark elf looks good

u use the mod precisely as it should! thank you very much for the user images. Thats exactly how it looks for me with a little finetuning :)
It looks even a little better with sse due to possible bc7 texture compression ; seems only a few people like that. thanks for your support!

i will have a closer look at skyrim during my holidays in a few weeks. the neck should be no problem. it is the amount of different skin mods existing and interefering and the complaints regarding them using these mods in combination with my mod...
