How are you installing it? Are you on LE? Silly question I know but people have been attempting to download LE mods for SE. Also are you using either NMM, MO, or MO2? Be as descriptive as possible.
I use MO, but download manually using Winrar. Most mods install as usual with MO, but some won’t. I think it might have to do with the way they are ported from SE.
It has nothing to do with the Mod Manager, it just uses what is you have on your computer. You need to update or replace the program that handles compressed files - in this case it's a .rar file. WinRAR is what I use and it has no problems, there are many others.
Unless it's Vortex. Very glitchy and buggy for TES/FO games. Although yes, maybe trying another compressed files program may help. Let me know how it goes.
I love mods that make skyrim crash upon startup. After removal of this one my game worked fine. I'm sure other than that it's a great mod, please forgive how I sound, but I'm typing this after spending several hours working on the problem.
