    - FAQ -

    > Does this mod spawn creatures indoors, such as in dungeons?
    No, only outdoors.

    > Is there anything I should be aware of when installing or updating the mod?
Nothing. You can install/update/uninstall mods whenever you like, using the standard methods of the mod manager you are using. No new game required.

    > Conflicts with other mods?
Not at all. Compatible with all mods.

    > Can I change the strength, loot, and other attributes of creatures the mod spawns?
Change those of vanilla creatures in other mods. The mod will spawn creatures that reflect the changes.

    > Could you add my favorite creatures to themod?
You can add them yourself by creating an add-on according to the following article.
UHE Add-on Instruction Guide at Skyrim Nexus - Mods and Community

    > Will the mod spawn creatures in areas added by other mods?
Go there and check. Even if it doesn't spawn, it will if you create an add-on according to the article below.
UHE Add-on Instruction Guide at Skyrim Nexus - Mods and Community

    > Can I save/load MCM settings?
Installing MCM Recorder is recommended. Or create a batch file according to the following article.
UHE MCM Settings Import Guide at Skyrim Nexus - Mods and Community

    > The mod spawns quest related creatures such as the Champion of Boethiah, does it cause a bug?
No, it does not cause a bug. Since they are clones, killing them does not affect vanilla quests.

    > The name of the creature in the MCM is displayed as $Creature0 or $Creature1. How do I fix it?
If your Skyrim is non-English version, rename UnlimitedHostileEncounters_english.txt in the mod to match your language and then redeploy it. If Spanish, it is UnlimitedHostileEncounters_spanish.txt.

    > If the mod causes a problem, how can I fix it?
If the mod is the cause, the following procedure will fix the problem. If the problem is not fixed by this, the mod is not the cause. This procedure will initialize the settings for this mod.
    1. Disable this mod.
    2. Load the data and save it as new.
    3. Enable the mod and load the new saved data.

To the mod author(Kippo28): Have you tried DFB Random Encounters? What was not satisfactory about it? It would be interesting to see such a mod get reworked using your mod here as a framework, however, I feel the aforementioned mod so far does everything I want within an immersive playthrough. I find that going overboard customizing my experience tends to be immersion-shattering, and so I have to rely on mod authors to hand-place or fine-tune the impact the mod will have by default, out of the box. Lastly, DFB Random Encounters requires no DLC - and we cannot upgrade Oldrim any longer if we didn't purchase the two DLC by some arbitrary date. Thanks!

I know the mod is called HOSTILE ENCOUNTERS. However, It would be really nice (at least to me) if you add an option to make the encounters non hostile until they detect me. It really breaks my immersion in the game when I am hunted down by enemies 5000 feet away with no chance to detect me.

You can customize the spawn distance in the MCM.

Try DFB Random Encounters instead. Predates this one by a bit and I've been using it for... almost a decade now

Hello, I'm trying to configure this mod to my liking but all I see in mcm are incomprehensible texts with $ symbols and vague explanations. How could I solve this?

Hi there, right now you can choose creature to spawn in either Skyrim or Solstheim worlds. Is it possible to add new world like Falskaar? I want to make some custom creatures only spawn in Falskaar. Thank you.

It's possible with a little editing of the esp by yourself, are you interested in how to do that?

Thank you for your replies. Yes, you can do it with TES5Edit.
The following is the easiest way to spawn a mod creature. (it's not an add-on)

      How to change the esp:
      1. Open the esp by TES5Edit.
      2. Choose a creature you do not need and select its FormID List. E01PaintedCow is recommended for the first try.
      3. Change the NPCs in the list to NPCs of mod creatures. Multiple NPCs can be added like E01PenitusOculatus.
      4. Save the esp and deploy it.

How to check if the creature spawns:
      1. Load the game and open the MCM.
      2. Set the creature's Spawn Amount to 5 and Spawn Level to 1.
      3. Set Fake Player Level in Miscellaneous to 1.
      4. Walk around the creature's Spawn Zone. Only the creature will spawn since the other Spawn Levels are greater than 1 by default.
      5. Once confirmed, change the MCM settings as desired.

You may also want to change the creature name in UnlimitedHostileEncounters_english.txt.

Yes, it is a creature replacement. You may have several different creatures you want to spawn, so repeat this process. If you were expecting an easier way such as importing all creatures at once, unfortunately there is no easier way than this.

Modification of mods is an action that requires a permission, so just to be clear, you can do this modification to change the behavior of a Skyrim that you own. If your expectation is not just to spawn mod creatures on your Skyrim, this permission is not enough, is it? Let me know what you are expecting.

As for the stack, I have no clue as I have not experienced it yet.

Man this literally tells me nothing.  Is there a better way you can explain this? I'm not a TES game modding idiot or an idiot when it comes to Tedit or ckit but your explanations are literally kind of useless and I mean that in the most respectful way possible. This is literally telling me nothing and I've been at this for an hour or 2 doing my own trouble shooting and deciphering what they heck you mean.

If someone else can offer a more astute explanation or if he wants to then that'd be lovely. I'm sorry but this was super frustrating trying to piece together what you're trying to convey.

Again that article told me nothing and how exactly to implement new monsters into the summoning pool. I mean kudos to people who deciphered what you were meaning but I had to pass. Was wasting entirely too much time trying to change formlists with no results.

Not to s#*! on your work because you did an excellent job. This however just didn't translate over well so my apologies.

Hello! Thank you so much for your mod, it really brings Skyrim to life. But could you record a video instruction on how to add a creature from other mods? I tried to add it myself according to your instructions guide, but nothing worked out and I do not know why. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at TES5Edit...

I am afraid I am not good at making videos.

I think the following tutorial is a good way to get familiar with TES5Edit. Give it a try.

After that, feel free to ask me questions if you have any unclear points in my article.
