I've been taking a break from MCM Recorder to focus on learning SKSE C++ plugin development to make better mods for the Skyrim community.
My next big upcoming project: a YouTube tutorial series for SKSE plugin development (for C++ novices and advanced users alike)
Watch for this in the coming weeks! Subscribe to Skyrim Scripting to get notified!
I'm also currently working on tools for helping mod authors test both SKSE/Papyrus/Skyrim Platform mods. And I have a variety of SKSE plugins I plan on developing in the coming months.
So forgive my absence from MCM Recorder and my other mods while I work on this to help everyone in the community!
MCM Recorder doesn't work for mod X. Help?
MCM Recorder works for MOST mods. But not all. I will follow-up with new versions (released for all versions of Skyrim) to add support for mods. Be patient.
Something Else Doesn't Work!
Please use the "Bugs" on Nexus to file a Bug. Be as descriptive as possible. I will go through all of the Bug reports occassionally (after finishing SKSE projects)
I wish this didn't take up one of my valuable .esp slots...
Me too. I'm working on a way to make this an .esp-less project ;)
Okay... I recorded a mod config session, coppied it out of the Overwrite file into Data/McmRecorder, and none of the recordings I made are listed. HOW DO I ACTUALLY LOAD THE RECORDINGS I MADE?
For anyone experiencing issues with recording not showing make sure that you're not using a bundled version of papyrus and instead also have the standalone version. This fixed the issue for me. Thanks, great mod, really appreciate it.
So...How do i completely uninstall the mod? yeah it works... for the most part but i need to uninstall it. so i uninstall it from NMM and...its still in my game. its still in the MCM menu. I UNINSTALLED IT and it still in my game. WTF?
Edit: well it turs out you need to uninstall the mod and then completely restart your game for the mod to be officially removed. >:/
Okay, so, to those, who's experiencing troubles with the recorded files not appear in menu - try the most simple thing, re-install both JContainers and PapyrusUtil - that worked for me, though, I had the latest version for each one.
Something to be aware of, Chesko included a now outdated version of Includes StorageUtil.dll and JsonUtil.pex/psc from the PapyrusUtil in several mods, so you need to check for conflicts and adjust your load order/hide/delete the outdated versions.
late to find this mod I run into some of the troubles mentioning here.... but... maybe I found the solution for the most pressing "bugs". In my experiences it looks like it is a problem of the correct version of Mod Organizer.
For people like me, playing Oldrim and using the old MO with its latest version (1.4x) the MMC-Mod is not working correctly (mostly not creating .jsonfiles). But playing Oldrim with MO2 is working without any problems with the same mods installed (You remember, that it is easy to change to the new version of MO2 with copying the 3 directories - "download" "mods" "overwrite" .... and maybe a safe of "profiles" for comparing the modlist etc.).
So it is good news, that this mod is working for Oldrim with MO2, too... not tested it with Skyrim Special Edition, since (for me) the 64bit-Version has less (good) mods and a much badder graphics as a good modded Oldrim.
Hope, that this will help someone with Oldrim and the wrong Version of MO, too. Have fun in playing
P.S.: the mentioned path ("overwrite") in MO2 is not essentially needed. If you have a mod with a "skse"-directory (for example a created mod from an earlier "overwrite" for backup-settings) you are able to copy/move the created directory "MCMrecorder" to this existing mod to "free" overwrite. The recording mod is able to detect the original directory, since it is virtual in the same directory (....\data\mcmrecorder\....) as it will be found in the same virtual place as from "overwrite". Such you are able to have a real backup, if the "overwrite"-directory was cleaned during some other actions (like using FNIS, Bodyslide and other stuff).
Granted I'm using version 1.0.5 and lovin' every second of it, but how in the highway to hell does this mod only have 138 endorsements?!?
EDIT: Ok, Now I see. v. 1.0.7 was released and the prior page/history/downloads/endorsements were wiped and discarded like roll of Charmin Ultra Soft in a girl's dormitory. EDIT AGAIN: Nope, wrong as usual I somehow managed to stumble across the border into the great forest of LE mods. Endorsed.

That is superior level of scripting. Congrats!
It deserves much more spotlight though.

The mods is great, real time saver!

Just installed it -- back later to endorse; I am that confident of your work.
