This is awesome, and a much needed fix! However while hunting, those overly bright footprints I found actually come in handy, because I can clearly see where an animal has been in the snow
Please install the latest version of Footprints - after sort with LOOT your load order - use it default and ignore the configurations in its MCM Menu - so it should work. ... If not, then contact me via PM and I will try to help you to get it proper worked.
i could not get the latest versions to work consistently in le. they'd work for awhile, then quit and i'd have to reinstall to get it to work (i've heard quite a few say the same). BUT the old version 99 never let me down. been using it since 2012 probably. it still has the old cloak method of adding prints i think, so is probably heavier on the game resources. but lighter and more efficient doesn't matter if it won't work lol
The newest LE version always worked for me but it's hard to tell how it is for others. I wish the mod author at least left the posts section open so people could help each other out. Maybe he has a discord?
All I could really find was this (on the SE page):
'Certain animation replacers can break the animation events being sent, and if you use these your player will not receive footprints. There is nothing on my end that I can do. This mod works on the vanilla animations and skeletons, so the fix has to be on their end.'
