I think for a first one, it's quite a good one! I have two suggestions for updates: 1st, I'd change the cave location because I seemed to find no way to get back uphill after coming out of the cave without using the tcl command. 2nd, I chose the non-marriage option and accepted the house, but obviously the guy sent his child away all alone and kept tagging along all the time.
1. In fact there is a way up - but it's quite difficult. And there's a way down (the cave has two exits). The location i mainly chosen not to conflict with other mods. 2. He/She should stop following when the safeplace is reached. When you have that dialouge he/she should not follow anymore - so that seems like a bug. I will fix that when I get my new workstation set up for modding.
I was really looking forward to trying this mod, but I experienced a strange ctd right after putting it in my load order. I run a lot of mods, so I don't want to blame your mod until I've done some troubleshooting. After I've poked around a bit to determine the cause, I'll come back and let you know.
Turns out the CTD had nothing to do with your mod and was actually being caused by a broken navmesh from another mod in an interior cell I apparently just hadn't visited until then. Unfortunately this past week has been hell at work, so I haven't had a chance to play through the quest yet.
