I've long lost the desire to make mods for Skyrim and I backported this purely because I kept getting messages about backporting this mod to Skyrim LE, so, here it is. Please understand that just because I backported this doesn't mean I may do the same for other mods I made for SSE. Also, I'm not going going to go beyond backporting this, I don't even have a modded Skyrim LE for me to playtest this while playing the game, hence why it's barely tested. As for patches, I'll have to leave that to community.
Thank you for understanding and I hope you enjoy the mod.
Thanks a lot for the port to LE Couple things I noticed in my testing: Big objects at long distance are not properly lit during night time and look like big dark shadow, even when the northern lights are on the sky, examples: Whiterun castle looking from "coc whiterun" bridge : https://i.imgur.com/mY5FpSz.jpeg Azura's statue from looking from Alftand: https://i.imgur.com/DJOBRRP.jpeg Another thing I don't have a screenshot for is that sometimes, around Windhelm stables, some kind of vanilla snowstorm weather takes over Aequinoctium and makes everything ugly, easily noticeable because it gives you that ugly dark shadow over your character, which doesn't happen with Aequinoctium weathers, pure vanilla thing Edit: the last problem happened because of a conflict with AOS 2, that needs a patch, hopefully someone will make it it. Love the colors overall, bloom is maybe a lil bit overdone for my tastes, but the mod looks actually good on LE, unlike some other SE backported weathers
If this doesn't work as you thought it would, check out Obsidian Weathers. It does the same and works really well for me. I thought this mod added snow accumulation and changed the landscape. I already have great weathers with Obsidian Weathers and True Storms. Also work great with AOS, for those having that issue.
I think I've found my new weather mod! I don't use an ENB, and recently I have tried Vivid, RAID Weather, and Cathedral... all of these have great things to offer, but also aren't quite giving me a reliable experience.
Aequinoctum seems to be pretty consistent in all types of weather. Colours aren't too intense. Contrast feels balanced all the time, but also no blown-out highlights like I get on Cathedral, HDR eye adjustment feels smooth and natural. Rain looks really good - not overly blurry or too sharply delineated. Unlike many weather mods, this one doesn't strip out all the distance fog. I'll never understand why people want everything to be in absolutely harsh sharpness no matter the distance - it's called 'atmospheric perspective' people! It's a thing!
Anyway, if I had a complaint, it's that it's almost too consistent. Everything looks good, but so far I haven't had any real moments that jump out as being -especially- spectactular. The dawn and sunsets are very modest, no amazing colour displays, and the cloud formations seem kind of boring (though I think it mainly uses vanilla assets for that?). I do miss the gorgeous sunsents and cloud formations from Cathedral, but I otherwise I found the experience a bit inconsistent in Cathedral.
So thank you for a great mod.
If anyone has any ideas for injecting some more vibrant sunsets into an Aequinoctum game, I'd love to hear it!
Hello ! This is a truly impressive mod, it's graphical effect feels almost like a proper ENB preset. I thank you for bringing it to LE. On a side note, does anyone known of an interior graphical mod that goes with this ... it's kind of odd to go to an interior and lost all the graphics effects of the mod. Thank you again !
Hi, thanks for the suggestion ! Actually I was using those mods already for a long time. They are great indeed but I was looking for something more sharp and vivid, just like Aequinoctium does to the exterior lighting. I've tried Luminosity but I'm not convinced with it: I've even tweaked a little to reduce the ambient lighting but cant quite get the result I'm looking for. Thanks nonetheless !
