This looks beautiful. So lively, and convenient. So many times I'm going with my character down the road coming from the valtheim towers, and then have to go ALL the way around to enter whiterun. This looks like an awesome addition.
The version with gate conflicts with "Bells of Skyrim" mod, the entrance to Jorrvaskr is blocking the little stairs towards the bell. the main files crashes when going towards the stairs to Jorrvaskr
I apologize for a case of denseness. I've read your description through several times and, while I know it's clear in your head, it's still not translating into mine. My simple question is, are the two mods identical, except for the closed gate? Or do you get one or more different bridges and/or paths in your mod vs. your gated mod? Thank you for any clarification there, as I REALLY want to use the one that doesn't conflict. And, I like many will REALLY want to use one or the other when it no longer conflicts with Bathing Beauties, which is an off-the-road staple for a lot of us long-timers in Skyrim.
Eh, no apologies necessary since I am well know for not explaining things clearly sometimes. They are both based on GamerDude092's original mod. The one with the gate was modified by kcaz25 who made two versions, one for open cities and one for regular. My Eastside with Gate uses the regular one. I noticed kcaz25 made a few changes other than adding the closed gate such as removing the fallen house. I added my road, staircase and bridges to both. So they are different from each other in addition of both having my own modifications. Hope that cleared it up.
Hello to the mod creator(s), great improvement idea for Whiterun, but when i reach the stairs towards Jorrvaskr the game crashes... could it be conflicting with Skyrim exterior fixes ? No mods installed that alters Whiterun except maybe for a few texture replacers and renthals well replacer (market) greetz from Ninove, Belgium
I hate to hear that. I haven't had that issue myself and as of yet, no one else has reported it. I would guess it's conflicting with something you have already. You know the drill, disable suspect mods one at a time until you find it. Try loading the texture replacers after my mod. I haven't used Skyrim Exterior Fixes, I didn't know about that one. I'm going to download it and see how it works on my PC. If you do find the culprit, please let me know so I can try to make a patch or list it as incompatible.
Edit; Wow, lilebonymace has an eye for detail! It changes so many things I'm pretty sure it's conflicting with something in my mod.
Just curious, also, about Skyrim Exterior Fixes. Will they work together without a patch if you load Exterior Fixes after your Eastside mod? IF not, then I'm up a creek, as I have NEVER been able to do a successful patch. Every time I try it (no matter how many different tutorials I watch), I hose something terribly.
I haven't used that one in a while. If I remember right, JK's mod doesn't do anything to the east side of Whiterun. I may be wrong. If you want to check it out and get back to me, that'd be good.
Thanks. Yeah, I looked for Bathing Beauties. It isn't on Nexus anymore but I found it on another site, downloaded it and tried it out. For some reason it has no floors and I kept continuing to fall. I see it's occupying the same space but unfortunately I can't use it like it is.
Is in need a patch for The Great Forest Of Whiterun Hold. I also saw a few grey faces. One building near the new entrance is floating at it's rear (as in there is no foundation and can be looked up into from the bottom of it), and one of the spiked logs is floating somewhat, next to the new entrance from the outside (staring at the entrance, then a quarter-turn to the left). I've been in the mood to add some volume to my cities as of late, and I'm pleased to have found this! I'd hope for a hotfix on any of these issues, with a quick update, but I definitely will be keeping this gem. It has accomplished what I sought out for. I believe these fixes are within my reach to fix at any rate. Thank you Paul for reintroducing this age-old mod!
I downloaded right away! Thank you very much, Paul! The added bridges and extra volume in Whiterun's Exterior makes me appreciate the city even more. Thank you a bunch, and I hope you had a Merry Christmas (if you celebrate)! Consider doing more fine work for the modding scene! Especially if you intend on beefing-up the existing Vanilla game-world! Take care.

Someone would have to create a patch.

You're welcome. I hope you enjoy it.
