No, it isn't normal. This mod allow you to wear any armor (with helmets aswell). For me and probably everyone else it is working fine. In my profile you can find picture of this mod in game. Are you sure you have selected geralt of rivia race in racemenu? Does your race change when you wear armor? It can be caused by mod aswell.
Oh you wrote that yours head is changing but everything is fine with it. This mod is supposed to use with Witcher 3 armors that you can find here https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/85999/.
To make it compatible with armor like on your screen I have to make new textures for every armor this type. Of course you can use vanilla armor but it has to be covered.
