Hi, I have been using this for a while and it worked fine, now I installed windows 10 and I got this Couldn't load PriorityMod.dll (Skyrim Priority 3.0.0). A dependency DLL could not be found (code 126). Any help would be appreciated.
In my very very overloaded game, I have not noticed any adverse effects or advantages with this Mod, maybe a little more stability but I am still doing tests
Nothing works correctly in win 10 without proper account settings, security settings and compatibility settings for ancient programs like CrashFixplugin.dll. Performance is 90% dependent on this, not hardware. Sky works for me on Intel 4600 without video memory works better than with GEFORCE GTX 880m with 8 GB with sane resolution.
Sorry for this noob question. I'm asking because I really don't know much about these things.
Does this affect anything when Skyrim is not running? I notice that with this plugin activated, my laptop's performance dropped significantly even after I exit from Skyrim. I've made sure that I didn't have any pending Windows update and did all the usual things I do when my laptop started lagging, but they didn't really do much like before. I uninstalled this plugin from my mod manager and looks like my laptop's doing a lot better after that.
That being said, I 100% acknowledge that this plugin is very helpful when playing. I barely had any crashes at all.
No It's impossible. All this mod do is temporarily change the priority of TESV.exe. This change is only for the TESV.exe process. This mod will not change any system setting or anything in other process. This is exactly the same as you manually set the priority in the Process Manager
So after TESV.exe exited in anyway that expected or unexpected. Manually exit/Crash/Powers off... The priority change of TESV.exe will be lost. Everything will be back to the way it was.
Thanks for clearing that up. I read the description many times and my limited understanding is right - this mod should not affect anything while Skyrim is off. Gonna take a deeper look at my setup to find out the real culprit here. Thanks again!

Would this potentially cause the computer to randomly power off while playing skyrim? I'm getting that for some reason, but don't know if the two could potentially be connected. by shutting off I dont just me ctd, its not doing that, I mean literally my entire laptop powers off, and I have to press the power but to turn it back on again where it left off
What this mod do is just call the WinAPI SetPriorityClass to change process priority. It's a simple and safe function. Impossbile to cause troubles like that.
It looks like a hardware trouble. Probably because your computer temperature is overheated. This will make your computer forcibly turn off the power to avoid hardware damage.
Try: Do some clean to your computer. Replace your CPU thermal paste Buy a new Cooler
This used to happen to me on my older CPU, especially when I was overclocking. It could be this mod causing your CPU to overheat and therefore shut down to protect your system.
The system assigns time slices in a round-robin fashion to all threads with the highest priority. If none of these threads are ready to run, the system assigns time slices in a round-robin fashion to all threads with the next highest priority. If a higher-priority thread becomes available to run, the system ceases to execute the lower-priority thread (without allowing it to finish using its time slice) and assigns a full time slice to the higher-priority thread.
This mod will make low-priority to have less CPU Time and Skyrim have more. Not like Overclocking. This won't do anything to your CPU Speed.
And overheat is totally a hardware trouble. Have nothing to do with any softwares. Normal use of the computer shouldn't cause this. The only exception is Overclocking.
If you are Overclocking. Turn it off.
Or just like what I said before. You should:
Do some clean to your computer.
Replace your CPU thermal paste
Buy a new Cooler
These are the best ways to solve cooling problems.
There's also a temporary low-cost solution. But not recommended.
Open the side panel of your PC case
Put a fan and blow at the computer
You can have immediate result with this. But this could make your PC to have even more dust. In the end you still need to clean it.

Download and install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022 here:

If you don't know what's your CPU Architecture.
Edit: Didn't work, 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12600K 3.69 GHz 64-bit operating system.
The way I run Skyrim is:
@echo off
start /high skse_loader.exe
This Mod works running Skyrim in this Way?
"start /high skse_loader.exe" will not work because the High Process Priority won't be inherited (skse_loader.exe to TESV.exe).

Good thing i have good folks at the house
Really?
That's not good :0
Now i dont know who to believe
Higher Priority won't cause you overheat.
You can read Microsoft Cfficial Document for details:
