Sounds good. It's important not to remove every single blood texture from the game because some quest(s) intend for the player to follow a trail of blood, etc.
Only one way to find out if this mod strikes a needed balance between toning down gore and breaking the game, but I'm hoping all works well.
I manually installed everything except the four decalbloodsplatter .dds, and doing so keeps the obnoxious pool-of-blood textures in for the quest. Only problem is that it also keeps a weird-looking blood splatter when the player gets hit, which is one of the obnoxious things that I wanted to be rid of in the first place.
I wish there was a mod that just reduced the size of the blood to a REASONABLE level, instead of making it too small to see entirely. Somehow I doubt that a nice balance is even possible. I guess I'll have to settle for absolutely no blood at all.
Which quest is it? When I get to that point. I could find it on youtube. Problem solved. Also try clairvoyance, is it? Could tell you where to go without trouble.
I've been playing Skyrim for several years and I've never seen a mission where you need to follow a trail of blood. This information is new to me. Could you share the name of the quest you mention?
Thanks, Jupitus. I was having a hard time finding a mod that would delete just the blood splatter on the screen and found this one. I didn't know what to delete. Thanks to the modder as well! Btw, consider uploading the mod in just that form as well if you want. There are lots of people who don't want to get rid of all the blood but don't like the screen splatter. (I'm not wearing goggles! ARGH)
Thanks for this, I use it to remove the screen splatters which annoy me while Im screenshooting. If you just want the screen blood removed, extract the texture folder to your desktop, and delete all but the two screenblood .dds.
Thank you for this awesome mod. They could have not been arrogant jerks and added a "No blood" option to the gameplay options. Thanks for undoing Bethsofts arrogance! Many of us arent bloodthirsty teenagers and we appreciate mods like this.

I'm going to try a manual partial install to see if it helps.
