Thank you for making this mod. I don't fully understand what it does or how it works, but I like how Bandit Cheifs are more challenging to beat down now. I remember using a similar mod back in the past that based NPC strength/defense only on their weight and height value. Your mod makes for more situational combat encounters.
I'll hit a guy, and he doesn't show any signs of injury at first. Then I realize that he's wearing iron armor, so I need something stronger to hit him with. I'm also using your mod that makes hide and fur armor look more protective. And your vampire and cultist armors with the patches.
Glad you're enjoying the mod, in vanilla Skyrim wearing armor never felt like it protected you at all. That's why this mod feels like such a game changer I think. Enjoy the mod my friend
I do have one question. I'm able to disenchant armors and shields that have no enchantment now. I'm guessing your mod has hidden enchantments on such items? When destroying a shield, the table will say that I learned Light Hide Armor, and such. Maybe this is the buff to health that your mod's shield provided?
That is correct, This mod essentially uses the underutilized enchantment system, providing more meaningful buffs that are noticeably more beneficial than any of the vanilla buffs ever were. The enchantments are essentially hidden, so essentially you have to resist the temptation of disenchanting them. You still have gauntlets, helmets and boots that are untouched by this mod, so you can still learn enchantments from those armor pieces.
How does your mod hide the enchantment description when looking at the armors in my inventory? Is the description simply left blank? Or is it just a blank SPACE in the description? I think it's cool that you have a technique for doing this majick.
I just gave this a try. I'm running Legendary Difficulty with Wild Cat, Ultimate Combat, Hit Stop, Savage Skyrim and now Advantageous Armor. Combat is approaching Dark Souls levels. I see a mudcrab and I break out in a sweat.
Awesome addition to the "warrior pack". Thank you.
HI! lovely mod! Just a question- when I disenchant the armor, what are the enchantments? There is no description, except it says "Banded iron shields". Please explain, thanks.
I would advise to avoid trying to disenchant or enchant any of the vanilla shields or armored cuirasses. These are not enchantments that can be learned like regular enchantments, so you cannot benefit from them.
oooh okay! thank you Rouge! IDK if this is possible, could you make it like they're disenchantable? Like, theyre there but also not show up in enchanments menu? Sorry if thats not possible. I LOVE the mod, it makes my hardcore playthrough really viable. Orcish armor actually feels like an upgrade. Great work!
One problem I found is that Daedric Artifacts like the Savior's Hide do not have the health boost, though I'm not sure how they interact with pre-enchanted gear like the Thieves Guild Armor. Also, it may just be because I put it in mid-playthrough, but shields don't seem to give the health boost.
Hi Xavier, I will address the Savior's Hide in the next update. You probably need to place Advantageous Armor lower in your load order if your shields are not giving you a health boost. Hope this helps.
Unique pre-enchanted armors, like the Thieves Guild Armor's should still keep all of their original enchantments. I tried to cover all of them, but let me know if I missed one, and I'll try to update in the next version.
Hi guys, This will only affect vanilla and DLC armors, modded armors like the ones in Immersive Armors will not be affected. This mod has open permissions, so anyone can publish a patch if they so choose. I don't use Immersive Armors, so someone else who has lots more free time than I do, will have to tackle that patch. Enjoy the mod, it's a game changer!
