I don't get it. Just re-verifying with Steam should fix those issues quickly and easy enough. Why use this?

  Not 'knocking' the author/creator, but I HIGHLY advise against using any sort of automated app to mess with one's OS registry.
  It's just too-easy to fully 'brick' your machine, that way, and/or open yourself to some sort of vulnerability.
