man honestly i always wanted morally grey options in this mission. like there arent enough options. I prefer imperial playthroughs but of course i kill and sabotage thalmor every chance i get. since i hate this quest sitting in my list i often do it, also i get to slaughter a keep full of thalmor with backup early in a playthrough. And im not going to let a Skyrim citizen suffer at the hands of the elves! but I'm not interested in supplying my enemy with these fool soldiers. i usually would procede through the quest normally till the interrogation room then kill everyone, fail the quest and be the only survivor of the keep. but id prefer if you could convince them not to rejoin the stormcloaks (maybe cause a imperial soldier helped them kill the thalmor). or arrest them into imperial custody after dealing with the thalmor (but that'd be a problem since thalmor would find out)
I just tested the bsa version on both le and se and it worked flawlessly for me. Avusltein's reaction was simply perfect *big grin*. I hated using cc to add myself to the faction every playthrough. Now handsome Agent Aldaron does that for me every time. Thank you!
Hello, the BSA version sometimes doesn't allow the dialogue to advance. Have you tried the loose files one? Sometimes when I create .fuz files, they don't work properly. I updated the SSE version of this the other week, and forgot about LE. I'll upload a supposedly fixed version after I've had my dinner.
Great mod for an absolute bastard playthrough. Though, I am running into a bit of a problem. The newly generated voices for the new dialogues doesn't work for me and as a result, I am stuck at the part where I am threatening Thorald. All I can do is say is, "Hello Thorald," then nothing. Not sure if it is a bug and others are experiencing the same thing or that it is just me. Anyways, if anyone knows why I am stuck, please let me know. I have fuz ro doh installed by the way, Thanks.
Hi Steve, I'm just lookig through the voice files and quest structure again now. If you've got to 'Hello Thorald' did you get past any of the previous changes? With Avulstein outside the keep, for example?
I got to the Avulstein Part. Except none of the voices worked for me right from the get go, as in even the agent in the inn had no voice but it didn't affect the progression of the quest. Just that the Thorald part I guess needed the voices to work to progress.
Edit: By the way, the subtitles didn't show up for any of the custom NPC replies, and it would get stuck and I would need to tab out of the dialogue tree to continue. The default dialogue parts work of course. I've also tested other mods with custom voice or no voice and they all worked.
Well, that's a total mess! Sorry about that. I'm surprised you managed to get that far if it was that bad. I'm going to upload a version with voice files in a new format. I'm not very experienced with LE Skyrim and I think I might need to put them in .xwm.
It is ok, I happened to be playing a lawful evil character right now. Glad to be a tester. I hope you'll be making more absolutely evil choices quest edits.
I'll do loads more if I can solve my persistent issues with voiced dialogue. This was a problem for some people with the Proudspire Manor mod too. I'll try anything. Versions with all formats. Uploading loose files. I've uploaded version 1.1 now. I hate to say this, but it might be best to go back to a save before you started the quest because I've made two changes to this. Sound file format, and one small change to the plugin. Thanks for your patience.
I just tried 1.1 and it didn't work as is, BUT, once I unpacked the BSA the mod worked as intended. I am going to try 1.0 loose as well just to help out.
Thanks again for all your help today. I've uploaded a version with only loose files now. I'm going to go and do the same for the other mod where people had problems. I did see your brief update - I have to say, it's a fascinating idea for a playthrough. I'm always thinking of awful quest options, although I've always stuck to ones suitable for Thalmor so far. You've given me something new to think about.
I am glad you got a chance to read it, I censored it because after I re-read it because I realized it might be taken as a political statement regarding current affairs. I didn't want your mod to get reported by a do-gooder.
One of my favorite games that I can never finish had been Spec Ops: The Line. The game's 4th wall breaking punch to the gut in terms morality and ethics had always haunted me. The line between good and evil is razor thin at it widest. We are all just one good deed away from becoming a full blown war criminal at just about any moment really and that scares the daylight out of me. As some might say, sometimes the only winning move is not to play. There are a bunch of playthroughs on Youtube if you are interested. As a mod/game maker, it might be relevant for you to check the game out if you are interested in developing an evil character story arcs.
All the best and I look forward to your future mods.
Hello Charlotte, I am a modder for driving simulators and therefore I always respect the work of modders, but what is the meaning of this quest au rebours?
