I'm guessing you have falmer boots in mind (which look more like greaves than boots). If these generate boot sounds by default, then they won't work with my mod either. I don't have access to old version of Skyrim anymore, so you would probably have to make a patch yourself. It's fairly easy, you just need TES5Edit . There are instruction images on the Fallout 4 version of this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/45101 . This tool works pretty much the same for both games.

After using this mod with Fallout 4 as I enjoy running around Barefoot, switching between Skyrim makes me miss this mod with how dynamic it was.
MANY THANKS for this mod! Simple but IMMERSIVE.

Sorry, I only have Skyrim Special Edition, so I can't change it to form 43. I heard though that this mod works fine for old Skyrim.

No problem. I saved it in CK and all is fine. I like it to hear now the footsteps when barefoot.

Never been fond of running around barefoot like that. But now I just can't make myself put on those boots.
I'd say it's not a mere audio SFX, it's immersion.
    i'M voting for this mod.

Thanks for this mod!  Any chance for a regular .esp version (not ESL flagged)?  Since ESL plugins are not compatible with Oldrim (they still count toward the plugin limit and don't function as they do in Skyrim Special Edition), I believe having ESL plugins in your LE load order can lead to instability down the road

You're right, must have overlooked the ESL flag. Thanks for bringing this up, kudos to you!
Reuploaded the file, should be fine now :)

Can't hear them on any surface. Even with the NPC footstep volume maxed out in the Audio settings.

Edit: Maybe adjust the BNAM - static attenuation in xEdit? Lower values = louder?

Hmm, I can hear these footsteps pretty well on my end.
Static Attenuation isn't set evenly for these sounds, so I would have to experiment a bit to make a balanced louder version. I will see what I can do in a few days though.
