My view, Deekus should have an alternative target too, because doesnt make sense kill someone who is just literally looting a wreckage, is there any crime or anything evil there? doesnt make sense...and for real...the Hemming Black Briar would be amazing together with the Destroy the Thieves guild guest, since you can kill Maven, Hemmin and Mal in the other part of the quest, when you confront her about her dirty job (after kill the entire TG), having him as target would be an amazing combo
Pretty sure some of the targets are used in quests, like Alva.
The best way should be to make up targets as new npcs to avoid that kind of problems, instead of catering to everyone's "sensibilities" about contract killings.
Best you make up 3 or 4 targets high up the food chain, like thalmors, imperial generals visiting skyrim, criminals/serial killers masquerading as Blue palace nobles, or something like that. They would only spawn when the quest is active and thus preventing other quests from breaking. Targeting named npcs while tempting, is too volatile.
And don't touch my bards! D: Except mikael, that guy can go, quest or no quest !
I actually like that idea, making new NPCs just to kill. Or at least making sure there are no other quests attached to the targets. Perhaps just making a couple different lists for as download options? That'd be neat.
+1 You are absolutely correct. However, if I use this mod, after killing any quest related NPC, I will immediately resurrect them using console as to not break other quests and still fulfill the DB quest.
Hi, @damelamochi! Thanks for your good work. However, I have a few criticism for your choice of new target just like I criticise jaycravn's choices.
pragmatism Hogni Red-Arm and Lisbet vendors. Banning is a stablemaster and one who sell Courage (the dog). Hert is a lumberjack. you kill them you lose their service. worse is Hogni has no assistant, so if he is killed there is no replacement.
quest / gameplay(?) Alva and Vighar are tied to quest. If a PC kills them before joining Dark Brotherhood, the contracts can't be fulfilled.
Morality Ahtar - he may be somewhat careless, jackass jailer. but he doesn't enjoy needless violence and decent man based on what I know. Plus, he is potential follower (pragmatism).
If you really want to kill people, this list is what I recommended to Jaycravn not tied to any quest at all: - Kornalus - Anise - Naris the Wicked , yeah he is in Morvunskar but killing or sparing him does not conflict with A Night To Remember. - Brandish - Hojvar Ironhand, leader of Whiteriver Gang etc
only tied to minor miscellous quests - Lu'ah Al-Skaven - Sild the Warlock ?? - Fjola - Drelas (only if you installed Interesting NPC, finishing the related quest will return the original Drelas to the cottage). Plus, he has a nice cottage. - ?Wyndelius Gatharian - Telrav ?etc
thanks for the mod. I really hated the old mod's target replacement, but now this one is much better. But the problem is some of the npcs are quest related...so i guess i have to carefully order my quest priorities.... which might have been impossible if i hadn't played before..
Personally, I don't think the Dark Brotherhood are exactly the bad guy here. They are just contractor and only kill those who have others want them dead, they don't kill for fun. For example: the first three people you must kill to join the family, they're mercenary kill others for cash, mother of eight and a child abuse and a corrupted merchant so...
Oooooh, I love alternate target mods. DB is my favorite guild, and I love anything that adds to replayability. Looking forward to testing this one out!
Another option that I am thinking of is to limit the number of target to 4 or 5 but they are final bosses like: Hert and Hern, Ondolemar, Vighar and Safia. The targets I chose are only evil people.

This would not only avoid conflicts with other Mods, for example in my gameplay all good NPCs are essential
either way, thanks for this mod. i have never given much thought to the murder cult, outside of cutting them down.
