I've been using this mod for a little while now, and it is great for starting characters. Having safe storage relatively nearby makes thoroughly looting Bleak Falls Barrow easier, if you're willing to make multiple trips, for example. Once you're ready to move on, say to Lakeview Manor or the Little Pond Farm (extended) mod, simply Take All from the chest, sell all that you don't need to Alvor and Lucan, and bid Riverwood a fond farewell. Or, if your character is the kind of person who travels light and doesn't need a permanent address, it is a good place to rest up without parting with any gold (I booked a room at The Sleeping Giant once, and the innkeeper didn't even bother showing me to it, had to search the whole inn for the unowned bed).
One minor note: putting the tent in Hod and Gerdur's yard sort of implicitly assumes you sided with Ralof in Helgen; and if you did, Gerdur gives you the key to her house anyway. So she's being very hospitable, one way or another. Perhaps an alternate, more neutral version might move the tent/etc to somewhere else in or on the edge of the village? Though I'm fine with the mod as it is, so need to change it if nobody else has an issue.
