Heads-up: I thought I needed this mod in SSE; ported & installed it ~ no change noted! I'm just happy it is NOT SKSE, because this way it seems to work fine on SE, too.
Only resaved in SE-CK and flagged as ESL in XEdit, so it does not count against my modlimit.
Anyways, there are just three AudioCategory entrys changed to show up in MCM, so there is really no need for SKSE, as there is no scripting. I'd see it more as a bugfix, so it should be added to USLEEP in Oldrim.
An ESP is always a better choice than a SKSE plugin if the same goal can be achieved with both simply because every SKSE plugin will take a chunk of the memory available for Skyrim as they are always loaded in the game whereas an ESP has no performance loss. And ESP limit can be easily overcome by merging ESPs so there is no issue there.
Not only that... a 2020 Skyrim is getting, day by day... so different, deep and unique. I don't know if it is the best year ever in what modding is concerned, but It's this year that Skyrim got a freaking lift up thanks to modders. It's stupid, a whole nother game, a proper Skyrim 2.0.
