i have some thoughts about your bows, in line of thought about realism and immersive gameplay
i myself played mostly as a ranger which utilizes bows and daggers as secondary for up close and personal (sneakily from behind it is)
my bows however was complemented with Scoped Bows (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50528) so that i can get rid of all the HUD displays so that all i can see is the distance between me and my target. tough i had to admit that not all scopes in this mod were "immersive" as some of them do seem "modern" and even "hard to use" due to its design, some of it does the job very well with simple "needles" that assists the aiming in a very simplistic yet immersive way.
i wonder if you can also integrate scopes into your mod, as it will be very sweet for me
Scoped Bows is a great mod but for me having scopes hanging off my bow is as immersive breaking, and vision cluttering as the HUD crosshair in the middle of the screen so I will NOT be adding scopes to any of my bows. They simply aren't needed.
I use a mod called Archery Tweaks. It centers up the aim of your arrows, and increases speed for all arrows in game to a more realistic level. I don't use a HUD crosshair. I aim using the tip of my arrow as a reference like one would do in real life. To want to mod something it has to be something there is a need for, and something I would personally use. Scopes on my bows are neither.
Awesome job!!!!. I love all the bows you have made, but I think this and the Arctic Wolf bow are my two faves right now. Thank you so much for continuing to work so hard on all of these. Really looking forward to the AIO. :D
For the glass version, I find the wood too light coloured. A darker wood might emphasize more the green colour of glass. You have a knack for making great bows :-)
Everyone will like different things :) feel free to open up the texture in gimp and modify it to suit your own tastes. right now it matches the glass arrows I made. Which was the plan. It is also a non- plug in singular replacer mod. use it if you like it. pass it by if you don’t. this is exactly why these are released this way to give people options that easily fit their personal preferences. there will be an AIO package but these are also released as single files so that people aren’t locked into using them all if they don’t like one or two of them :)
Good news, I like all the new bows, so an AIO version would be the best, maybe bringing together all the other bows, which I already have, but which would be great in one esp. in short, a complete version of Nicoroshi Bow. And maybe later, if you make other weapons A version with all the ones you've made, many of which I have but with separate esp.
Most all of my weapons mods are in one .esp called Nicoroshi Creations. This includes several of more recent releases like Drizzt swords, Tauriels daggers, Tauriels bow and arrows, lothlorien bow and more. The bows I am making now as part of the complete replacer i am working on do not require an .esp as they are straight model, and texture files that the game will use instead of the ones in the .bsa (without affecting the .bsa so if you uninstall any one of them it will revert back to using the vanilla models, and textures in the .bsa). I know that for SLE it's difficult to justify an .esp slot for a single unique item. Because of this when I am complete with all replacers (which all have unique item counterparts) I will create an AIO esp for SLE with all the unique bows in it. For SSE it's easier since i have been releasing the unique item bows in .esl format which does not take one of the .esp slots. Wish i had that option for SLE but sadly I do not. The compromise is to release these as single .esp items for SLE as they are created so people can play with them if there is one they really like until all are complete when I will make the AIO version. All I ask is some patience. I'm almost there. Only 4 more to go. Thanks
Thanks for the reply. I already have Nicoroshi Creations which contains two bows, but I don't remember if all the other weapons .......... maybe some were missing ........ Now I'm just waiting for the new AIO bows. Take your time.
Edit: I hadn't seen the Nicoroshi creations update.
Wonderful models. And the idea of an Eldergleam bow is fantastic! If what happens when you take a bit of sap is bad...what about taking a branch or 2? NICE
My good friend Phat actually chose this location and name (see credits). He also came up with the lore behind it. A lightning strike on the Eldergleam sent by Kyne produced this bow and it fell onto its altar. I can model and texture but some here like my friend PhatBassAnchor have a flair for locations and lore I can’t match.
That armor mash up is called ‘The Lily’ its here for both SLE and SSE when I saw it I knew it was a perfect light armor for Sonja the Red (my current archer/hunter character in the pics). very well done and highly recommended.
