Aside from being an interesting, immersive mod idea, this will also be a good gold-sink to keep you from becoming so rich that gold/selling items doesn't matter anymore.
Hello cobra0798, I like your idea for taxes. Check out AlistairRodryk https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/100762 Maybe the two of you could work something out to put these great mods together.
Umm.... thought of something else. These are just county taxes? I think of Skyrim as the province and each Jarl controls a county within the province. Would there also be taxes charged to the province by the Empire? Just.....thinking outloud.
I think the Empire would charge any "taxes" to the Jarls, not to individual homeowners. So part of the taxes collected by the Jarls would go towards paying any Imperial taxes. Just my thoughts, YMMV.
Cool idea. Only suggestions would be to add an MCM to configure the amount for daily taxes and to instead of putting the box in the player bedroom, put it outside so it doesn't cause issues with player home mods.
Good that I do not own any of the houses in the cities. I do have a house just outside of Riverwood and I'm assuming the tax collector would not even know about it. Since this mod attempts to make the Skyrim world more realistic, which I applaud and try to do with every mod I download, are the taxes collected budgeted for the maintenance of roads, schools, bridges, public buildings, etc.? Mara
Take Breezehome - you pay 5000 to buy the house. Pay 100 gold/day in taxes, comes out to 36,500/year to the taxman. More than 7 times the cost of the house.
Maybe add a slider in the MCM to determine how often the taxes are charged????
In concept though stuff like this adds realism in much the same way that mods like Frostfall and Ineed do, since we all need to keep warm and eat, and there's no escaping the taxman.
I agree with the slider MCM concept for adjustment, many of us have different ideas of what is reasonable and what is not and a slider would allow many more players to enjoy (if that's possible) paying taxes.
Just tried it out and it can be tailored to player economic choice, I'm trying 3% at 30 days, for a 5000 septim home it would be some 1800 septims a year. reasonable in my gameworld

And what happens if you don't pay tax? Is your property seized? Or court, prison, death penalty? It would be very interesting if there was punishment.
That says to me that unless you pay your tax your wlecome in that hold won't be warm!
Don't break my fantasies. The death penalty for tax evasion would be very interesting )))
