    well in theory bandits would tell of your crime for money, also will there be an ordinator patch.

      Well in practice they are also wanted criminals so they wouldnt go near an officer

    My soul trap spell doesn`t work while this mod is on.
    Any ideas how to fix?

      I know this is so old that you might not care anymore, but I figured I'd post here for others to see.

      I had the same problem. What fixed it for me was to open the esp with TES5edit, go to Magic Effect -> Soul Trap and delete that record. Note that this will cause Soul Trap to no longer be silent, but it will not break anything else.

      It is most likely an incompatibility that is causing this and not Path of Shadows itself. However, removing the record is the easiest solution.

    Is there any chance we can have the Lockpicking portion of the mod made optional? I love everything about it but the lockpicking.

    Keep in mind: Tested with ordinator installed, PoS was loaded after it.

    Ridiculous. The name itself is kinda ironic but we'll get to that later. I've been playing with this mod installed for 5-6 hours and it's completely unforgiving for a non kill everything playstyle. Standing still while invisible should mean I'm undetectable, even if I'm level 0 in sneak. If you're going to change that, you need to change all invisible spells and potions to reflect that it's 90% chameleon, not invisible. I thought that as long as my character is walking slow in the shadows, I'd be safe. Nope. I have ELFX installed which makes dark areas, darker. Not just visually either, the game registers that it's darker too. Most of the darkest areas in game are at light level 8-10. With ELFX, it can be 0. You'd think 0, or 'in the shadows' would render you 'invisible' as long as you stuck to the shadows. Well, you're wrong. I did some testing and even at light level 0, you could still be seen from a distance(20-30m).
    Even if we threw all that out, imagine a level 1 warrior unable to get through a level 1 dungeon with a dagger. Sure, it would be difficult and repetitive, but if you took your time, you'd succeed. With PoS installed, you will never succeed at level 1 thief character unless you're playing the most OP class, a stealth archer and pick everyone off. I think that would defeat the purpose of sneaking past people but to each their own.

    I will continue to look for a mod where dark = hidden and light = don't be stupid, I can see you. If you find one, send a PM my way.

      Have you tried 'Improved sneak detection' Also you can download 'SkyTweak' and adjust the settings to your likings

      The mod you want is "Realistic AI Detection".
      Dark = hidden, and light = I can see you.
      Its also the only mod that makes invisibility work while out of sneak mode. And its well balanced for low level and high level players.

      Never got a notification for all the above replies until now. Man, I was annoyed. I ended up making my own mod and it was quite difficult making it balanced but I mentioned everything that would be required in the description to avoid comments like my first one.
      A bit harsh but I stand by it.

    All of the complaints about the difficulty of this mod make me chuckle. Yes, it *does* make it more difficult, to a degree, but I'm playing on Legendary difficulty, and I do *not* have to kill everything in my path, nor do I have to avoid everything due to being underpowered, either. My bow skill is at 35, as is my one handed atm, with sneak at 77. Bandit Outlaws take two stabs from a 14 base damage, x24 sneak attack dagger (Enchanted gloves for double sneak attack modifiers with one handed weapons) At best, I have issues with taking things down by way of bow considering my archery skill needs a fix, but It gets the job done taking out the lesser enemies among the patrols. The rebalancing to perks, coupled with the way spells/archery is handled makes the entire approach to stealth gameplay completely different. I hadn't even noticed that I couldn't use Soul Trap, and for me this does nothing to hinder since I never find a use for that spell aside from scumming up my Conjuration skill. So, even with this mod being abandoned it has been a staple in my line-up since I got Skyrim on PC 2+ years ago. I always find a way to fit it into the roster.

    TLR This mod turns the game into Metal Gear: Skyrim, and if you're not ready to tap on walls, hide in boxes and use tactical approaches then this mod is not for you my friend.

      Doubtful that anyone will come across this, but I'll throw it up there anyhow... I like to come back to this grave site and pay my respects from time to time.


      Does anyone know of any conflicts this mod may have with the S.T.E.P. installation? I'm *mostly* core with a few extended additions, and I was hoping at the end of it all I could shoe-horn this mod in but I seem to have run across a conflict. It installed, no CTD's or anything, and my sneak attacks were all there and changed from what I saw... But the perks were gone. I downloaded the version *with* perks, from what I thought, but that didn't fix anything. Perhaps something from the bunch kills off the perks? I have ACE now, since I wanted the archery changes most of all, but I'm still not giving up hope that this can be fixed.

      Shadow_Dragyn, you literally peeked into my brain and pulled out *all* the tweaks I subconsciously wanted, and then made them into a mod for what I feel is the most satisfying stealth enhancements I could've ever asked for. Teach me, Senpai, and I will dig up this creation from the grave so that the world may enjoy it and all it's glory.

    Nice mod, but it conflicts with ACE.
    I'm hitting 6.0x with sneak attacks, and I'm level 1.
    That really breaks everything

    i have to agree with a lot of you that while this mod is well made it does lack a certain something.............................oh yeah the sense god gave a goddamn cat, holy sheep-s#*! batman could not get thru this on adept with a level 25 character with a level 90 sneak and all but the top one enabled!!!! nice mod but f*** if i =wanted to die every ten f***ing seconds i would still be cursing reqium.
    mod path of shadows deleted and i hated to do it started a brand new character with it and it was great till i hit level 25 which is when ii usually move to adept, daedric bow and arrows blade of woe upgraded to exquisite and like i said sneak and archery damn near maxed out and still i cant move at move than a crawl walk or i die or spend half my fucking time killing guards i really wanted to just get around.  the darkness is not and the silence of mu shrouded gear does not silence in this mod. which i call bullshit on cause the whole fucking point of the db gear is your fucking QUIET!!!!!

    Casually passing by, thought I should respond to recent comments. The mod is indeed abandoned, unfortunately. I just don't have the time to work on it. It was actually abandoned a number of years ago, but I created that last update during the brief period of paid modding, since that made it viable to work on it again. Bethesda quickly pulled the rug out from under that one, though. So I once again found myself in a situation in which I did not have the freedom to mod. Unless by some miracle I find myself rolling in disposable income, the mod won't be getting further updates.
    I would recommend finding newer alternatives.

    WARNING: This mod breaks the vanilla spell Soul Trap. You can cast it. It will eat up your Magicka, but nothing will happen. I spent three days banging my head against the wall trying to figure out why Soul Trap wasn't working, finally unloaded every mod, then reloaded them one at a time, and found out it's this one. Whatever changes the author made to spells (maybe to make them stealthy) broke the Soul Trap spell script. If you don't care about Enchanting, then load it up, because it's a good mod, but it appears to be abandoned, so you'll have to fix it yourself. I recommend a different stealth mod, which is a shame, because this one was a good one.
